Are all Rogues whiny bitches?

Was playing with someone who has a rogue...

I say HAS a rogue because he sure as hell can't PLAY one. He spends most of his time at the back with the spell casters... and sometimes he goes in front and I guess tries to hit something?

Anyway, so I figure "OK, this guy probably won't need much or any healing"

Proverbial **** hit the fan, and the warrior tank couldn't keep much aggro for some reason so everyone started to **** in their pants, especially the rogue....

First priority was to keep myself alive (check)
Second priority was to not let the tank die (check)
Third priority was to keep the DPS up (those that contributed anyway- check)
Fourth was him...

So he started moaning about having to bandage/potion and shadow something and how he never got any heals for like a whole minute...

I thanked him for his help in keeping himself alive and said that the tank was getting hit and I couldn't stop Nourish spam otherwise he'd have died and wiped the entire team (nb, nobody died)

So he went on and on about "what am I suppose to do? Leave the group or something?" and then others started chiming in to basically say (in a nice way) STFU the Tank was on 75% MS of course the healer will have trouble keeping up!

But anyway...

Are you guys all whiny bitches? That can't DPS for **** and just lurk in the shadows all the time? Cause for the life of me this dude was so far behind the group sometimes it took him the minute or so he was complaining about while we 4-man'ed the herioc...
 
Actually no not all rogues are like that, but unfortunately they do need babysitting from healers. A rogue busy bandaging is losing out on dps, and well a rogue can't afford to stop to bandage if he wants to get in top dps positions.

Anyways thats why I stopped playing a rogue, was too much work to keep up. A faceroll class is SO much easier. Roll a pala to dps you will never look back.
 
Sounds to me that in the fight you mentioned, it was the tank that was the problem and not the rogue. As for the rest of the instance, if he wasn't close to the fight, then he was playing wrong.

lol, if only he was DPS'ing i would understand... he spent most of the time either catching up to the group in stealth mode (god knows what he was doing all that time when we were running to the next mob/boss) and when he did catch up he sat with me and the mage... when he did go and fight, all he'd really do (that I could notice) is that scissor thing they do...

Yea I blamed the tank as well, I always get a bit nervous when it's a warrior tank. They don't do so well most of the times :(

Hmmmm, Im a warrior tank and I Tanked TOC 10 man with a pally as MT, which we cleared with ease. Wiped 3 times in total but it was mainly because of inexperience from all the people in the raid. Only times we dont do well, is when the dps don't stick to the main target, but if youre awake you can taunt the target away before he reaches the douche that pulled him away in the first place.

The biggest problem is when people don't stick to the discussed tactics. (If any were discussed beforehand) :)

I just show up and heal... do I need to learn tactics?
 
Why is it that you have to question whether we all whine or can't play just because you ran into someone of the same class who can't? I have run into plenty droods who can't play, in fact the new grouping system, great as it is, has this drawback that you will sometimes be grouped with a noob.
As a rogue, I know I am bottom of the list when it comes to healers. To be honest, if a rogue gets a cleave, he's out of position and doesn't deserve a heal. Though it has to be said, if a tank engages a boss or strongish mob, and doesn't turn him quick enough, he will sometimes cause the rogue to get 1shotted. Not fun :(
As far as aggro is concerned, the fact that a rogue now has both Feint and Tricks of the Trade should ensure that a boss never gives him/her a look, though if the tank sux, it's lights out. If I'm in a pug and the tank loses aggro and I get pwnd, I'll take it on the chin once. If it happens again I'm out of there, no sense in prolonging the agony.
Also, if I happen to be group leader, and I see any melee hanging back with the casters, he gets a kick or vote/kick or whatever, he's wasting everyone's time.

To get back to your question, no, we don't all whine :)

Always good to know how the fight is going to be so you know who's where. Or am I just thinking that healers can stand anywhere and heal everywhere? ;)

Can basically stand anywhere and heal everywhere... as long as I have line of sight and the tank doesn't zoom out of range I can heal it.

There's a couple of tactics I learned, but I can't fathom why people would run away instead of sticking with the healer, it's not as if they were taking any hits.

That one boss right before HoR with the whirlwind of souls or whatever.... you go stand in the middle... but you get these dumbasses that will run AWAY (not by fear of NPC)... :rolleyes: so then they "out of range" and/or "not in line of sight" and promptly die because I can't move or else I'd die... would rather sacrifice one dumbass to save the rest
 
In raids healers need to know tactics, like its a healers game in phase 3 of TOGC25.

I actually prefer warrior tanks as Priest healer...prolly cause I haven't had any issues with them as yet ^^

Just an observation, I think most rogue players are a bit on the pubeless side...if you know what I mean... :p

Chances are if you play a rogue, you wear your hair long, dyed black and hanging over one eye. You listen to my chemical romance, and write poetry about the futility of life and how much it hurts inside.

So no, OP, it's not just you who gets this vibe. You can tell a lot about a person about teh style of character he plays. Rogues sit around in the dark all day, they're loners, they like cutting... 2+2.. ;). Paladins think they're the hot ****, probably the type to wear pink shirts and popped collars. Warriors have something to prove. Warlocks are megalomaniacal. Druids have an incredible need to fit in with people. Hunters are usually just noobs who chose the class because it has a pet. Mages are anal retentive minmaxers. Priests are masochists. And Death Knights are basement nerds and/or sociopaths.
