Are all Rogues whiny bitches?

Chances are if you play a rogue, you wear your hair long, dyed black and hanging over one eye. You listen to my chemical romance, and write poetry about the futility of life and how much it hurts inside.

So no, OP, it's not just you who gets this vibe. You can tell a lot about a person about teh style of character he plays. Rogues sit around in the dark all day, they're loners, they like cutting... 2+2.. ;). Paladins think they're the hot ****, probably the type to wear pink shirts and popped collars. Warriors have something to prove. Warlocks are megalomaniacal. Druids have an incredible need to fit in with people. Hunters are usually just noobs who chose the class because it has a pet. Mages are anal retentive minmaxers. Priests are masochists. And Death Knights are basement nerds and/or sociopaths.

LOLOLOL !!!

To me a rogue is like a little Chiwawa... always keffing and barking in the back, not much use, like to ankle bite people from behind and as soon as you turn around to give me him a beating he vanishes or runs away... little coward ****s !!!

Rogues are like hunters pets, always chasing the ankles of the enemy from behind.
That said, I love my rogue and hate him sometimes, but mostly love him.
P.S. Pugging is the most legal fun one can have with 11 year old's. Full of rich experiences and life lessons.

I was in a LFG yesterday, where the rogue stayed back... so I ran up and did some close dmg with my dagger and pet (and I'm a warlock :) )

ROFL!!! I lol'd so hard :p

so you play a shammie cause that is the only class you left out..
Used to. Alternate between DK and mage now. And yeah, they fit my personality disorders. Them being Obsessive compulsion(the mage) and narcissism(the dk).

Shammies are tough to classify. People choose them because they like shooting lightning at things but are too lazy and cheap to buff raids ala mages/priests/warlocks (totems do it for free yay), and too pompous to wear cloth. On paper the class looks like a minmaxers dream - mail armor, shield, pewpewpew.. rawr. Only real way to categorise shammies is with one word.... 'fraawshaaawwwk!!!11'. They're almost always comedians, in my experience. That one guy in the raid who just won't shut up.

ehehehehhe. :p

My main is a rogue and if u play the class properly u should never pull aggro and only take damage if there is aoe dmg coming up. That being said, if heals dont come your way when such a case happens as with all classes u do tend to get pissed. Especially if u the main dps dealer (Mostly 1st in dps meters :)), I have a druid heals as well and when that happens just WG and it should be fine

I currently play a rogue atm (having tanked and dps'ed as a warrior and dk; and healed as a priest) and find most WotLK tanks to be terrible.

Tanking used to be tough as keeping agro was difficult, especially with multiple adds. TBC tanking was more interesting as there was a lot of kiting involved and some interesting fights (anyone tank Vashj or Kael?).

WotLK tanks (new ones) are so used to aoe tanking everything that they never learnt the basics. The only non-raid encounter that requires ANY tanking skill is Halls of Reflection - and watch tanks fail ... it is truly epic.

My rogue used to pwn the hood. with only 213 gear I used to smack top of the dps beating all the others in 25man ulduar raids. (I stopped playing back in July - I know gear changed a lot since then)

The only thing I whined about was my sucky pvp skills vs pretty much anything. Especially when a casting time is half that of your latency :/

It's also why most pre Wrath tanks are now playing dps. Tanking might have been more challenging pre Wrath (i used to be a baear tank in BC, prior to the shammy), but it was also a lot less fun.

I used to play a rogue classic/tbc being top in DPS ect... now I find it a very dull class to play, not sure why. Tanking is fun, I like the AoE tanking idea, also its way faster to get groups. Usually I can do whatever I want with friends ect, but if I get to the game and want to just quickly jump in, do a instance then go do something else again, being a tank is the thing purely based on how fast you get a group :)

ps. Anub'Arak still needs some tiny movement, ie. move away from the silly spikes. What about the newest VoA boss?

Also Halls of Reflection, tanked it the 1st time on my pala the day it came out on heroic mode, we literally one shotted that whole place knowing nothing about what to expect. OK OK I had one amazing healer to back me while at times wondering wtf is going on but still it was a fun place to do not knowing whats going on yet kill everything just fine.

Koralon? You just need two tanks in front of him splitting the cleave, and for people to not stand in the fire. It's a pretty easy fight really. Actually, the whole damn raid is a walk in the park nowdays.

The correct abbreviation for etcetera is etc not ect.

Back on topic. A good rogue won't take any damage unless:
1) AoE damage is flying about
2) The tank(s) is(are) dead
3) There are no other reasons

Anything else leading to the rogue getting damage is probably the rogue's fault. Just because a tank might suck at threat gen doesn't mean you need to pull aggro.

Typo, who cares it happens all the time.

As for rogues taking damage, its true it should never happen. Heck, I even used to open with Fan of Knives on mobs with threat redirected to the tank was too easy.

Im one of these. I have a lvl 80 warrior. I tanked with him pre tbc and cleared SSC. We never got to Kel in the Eye or BT. Then the first patch came out which brought aoe tanking. I remember the first day the patch was live. We went to Kara to test our new talents. The next Monday I told our guild leader that I wont be tanking in WotLK. Been pew-pewing with my lock ever since.

My favorite boss used to be Nightbane before we outgeared the instance, simply because it required stance dancing, real multi-mob tanking without shockwave. Some skill required. When we did SSC and the Eye, I always preferred off-tanking because it was exciting trying to hold a number of mobs with a warrior. Now its bloody boring.
