Are there E1820 drivers for Windows 7 (Cell C branded USB Speed Stick)

Hi,

I bought a Cell C branded USB Speed Stick (capable of data speeds of up to 21.6 Mbps for downloading and 5.76 Mbps for uploading) from Cell C store in Cavendish, Cape Town.

I checked on your website http://www.cellc.co.za/internet/drivers for Windows 7 drivers for the USB Speed Stick. There is no mention of Windows 7 drivers.

I checked the Huawei website, I can’t find any drivers for it.

Are there any drivers available for Windows 7?

The drivers are on the modem. It will install the dashboard and relevant drivers. It works on Windows 7 - 32 & 64 bit.
 
I tried the drivers on Vodacom. I am using the modem with Vodacom at the moment.
VC says it is for Windows 7. Probably for 32 bit definately not 64 bit.
I am using the f8 trick every day.
Hoping to find a driver at a later stage.:wtf:

Not sure how this applies for someone using a CellC modem that comes with Mobile Partner rather than VMC?

Edit: The driver only package from the MDMA site has Windows 7 64-bit drivers included. http://www.nerve.org.za/mdma/

I had a Vodacom modem originally installed on the lap top. I then installed the Cell C modem on the lap top without uninstalling the Vodacom modem. It worked fine until I got the Windows "Blue Screen of Death". Hence I thought the drivers were out of date.

Problem Event Name: Blue Screen
OS version: 6.1.7600.2.0.0.256.1
Locale ID: 1033


I only get the Blue Screen error when I have the Cell C USB Speed Stick plugged in.

I'm trying to get as much information as possible. I will trouble shoot when I get home this afternnoon.

You should uninstall VMC before installing the CellC dash. I would uninstall both VMC and the CellC dash, reboot and try the CellC modem again.

We do have the drivers for Windows 7 available for your Speed Stick, you can email us on [email protected] and we will gladly email them to you.

+1 & if your other (vodacom modem) happens to be a Hauwei brand then you can use the CellC dash to connect to vodacom when you want to,just create a new profile for it in the CellC dash.
You don't need to find any drivers.

and its True there are no Drivers on Huawei Website... I Just Emailed [email protected] to Accept Defeat Trouble Shooting this.

You can maybe see if the modded unofficial Dash is any differant - drivers in that are 4.20 vrs Cell C's original ones 4.17,also opens up the "wcdma only" dropbox.

Can't promise anything but maybe worth a try

I'm Win7 64 bit & the original drivers ran OK - def no BSOD issues
In the 4.20 Release notes there's been 3 BSOD issues fixed since 4.17 so prob worth a try

That was the best Solution Ever*** Im Sooo Happy right Now..

Everything is Just Working Perfectly... No More Crashes and Blue Screen on Windows 7 32 Bit.

Great,glad it worked out - Did Cell C send you any drivers in response to your email? If so in the release notes whats the last entry 4.??.??
