I had a look at these guys's webpage and noted they're not THAT cheap...I mean...Here you go via wireless, and it seems more expensive than a direct line....also youll get less crc's when connected via telephone lines...what do you guys think??

Nah, don't listen to Syndyre.

ibust is the best! ROFLMAO.

That is if you are do not mind:

Being on a tower that is overcrowded, off line or just configured badly.

Or if it just so happens that the accounts department thinks that you owe them money and they double or triple debit your account. With no warning. (and it takes 3-9 months to get it sorted out)

Or they suspend you for "abusing bandwidth"

Or if you are happy with a service that shapes the sh|t out of p2p and gmail. Why gmail? No idea, but they shape gmail.

Or of you are happy with terrible latency.

Or rude customer service.

Or no service for that matter.

Or happy with 40mb a month <--- WTF!??!

Or happy to pay a R100 connection fee just because they can make you.

So ya, make up your own mind.

P.S. Please let me know if I missed any other great service offer by ibust.

Where do I sign up? :D:D

How much does Telkom milk you for ADSL / phone line installations?

That's besides the point. iBurst has never charged for a connection fee since THERE IS NOTHING TO CONNECT! It's all plug and play. Yet now they do, which is unacceptable. The free connection and installation was one of the reasons I signed up with them last year.

Stay away from this company mate... they treat their customers like they hate them and are SO overpriced.

you forgot to mention that when everyone drops prices... Iburst increases them...

it will take you a long time... but that's not a problem for most people.

What? In this age of instant gratification I think having to wait a long time is a BIG problem. Infact there are multi-page threads on this forum dedicate to slating Telkom for fscking the cat.

Oh rly? Whats the total cost if you don't have a phone line?

Cybersmart are the cheapest, this is from their website:

384/128kbs circuit plus 1 GIG CAP R169
384/128kbs circuit plus 3 GIG CAP R259
512/256kbs circuit plus 3 GIG CAP R429
4096/384kbs circuit plus 3 GIG CAP R524

That's ADSL line and cap obviously, the analogue line is another R115 or so.

Just for the record, are you an iBurst user?

How could you tell? :D Honestly other than a small problem with their accounts department I've had no hastles. Been a subscriber since December last year and I've only experienced one day of no connection and a couple days of degraded signal. I couldn't count the number of issues my mates with ADSL have had over the same time period. Agreed, that for gaming and downloading masses of things off torrents iBurst isn't the way to go but for my needs it's perfect.
