I'm using a tenda wifi router ..dont have the exact model number but there are only two models available at incredible, the normal one and the one with wifi

anyway my stats are

SNR (Downstream) 13 db
SNR (Upstream) 13 db

Line Attenuation (Downstream) 33.0 db
Line Attenuation (Upstream) 19 db

Connection Standard D.Dmt

the SNR stats recently have been going up to 14db as well ...

anyway reason i'm asking is because my line seem to constantly loose connection ..but not totally if that makes sense...let me explain

they line will show as connected on my pc but if i try to browse any site it says no connection... i noticed that my utorrent is still running as well so the line is active just not connecting when browsing

so i re-enter my stats on the router and it seems fine for the next 5 to 10 mins then it looses connection again ... any theories ?

My isp is ORB (cybersmart\ TRL) ...if that helps

i should mention that my line is throttled...could that be the cause ? i do have a afrihost free gb account but that gets used up so fast i dont get time to notice any difference from orb (other than the speed ofcourse)

i'll try a new router at month end and see if that helps

thanks

The SNR margins are dependent on the line attenuation, sync rate (eg. 4Mbps/512kbps) and partially to the modem's quality.

What is your current sync rate? 6Mbps?

its 4096 download and 512 upload (4mb line)

Then your SNR margins are quite low. I would expect that low SNR margins for a line attenuation of like 45dB if you have a decent modem.
