Are they allowed to do this?

Well as long as they don't give me **** when guarantee time comes it would be that bad, but chance are PCZONE would give you lots of **** about it.

When I called to ask them about this "mistake", the salesman informed me that this is how they come shipped....what the heck! I told him well the least you could have done is informed the customers, to which he responded with the same quip, that is how they come shipped (it seems this is now a get out of jail card to them). When I asked for a swapout he refused. Then he told me to cut the firggen cord and buy a 3 prong and put it together myself.

Is it just me or is this unacceptable? The bare minimum is to inform the customer of that, surely we cannot be expecting an adapter that you cannot use without an international converted or diy! I'm unimpressed! What do you guys think?

Geez dude, you're going to have a heart attack soon if you really take things like this so seriously. Every device I buy that has a 2 prong or any other plug apart from a standard 3 prong I change to make my own life easier.

Every device you buy has a non-sa plug?? Which S.A do you live in? This is the first for me, and I have tons of electronics. 2 prong SA plugs are fine. That aint what we talking about here.
 
This also begs the question: Are these Samsung monitors they have at these fantastic prices are "grey" or not? Are other other Samsung monitors brought in under the auspices of Samsung SA fitted with SA plugtops?

If not I would be more concerned about the general terms of warranty rather than the 5 minutes of changing the plug.

2 prong plugs are not fine!!!!!!!!! i hate them and do not know why appliances come with them on. Again i take 5 minutes to add a 3 prong plug because life is to short to worry about what plug you use :p

You can also just buy a perma (or temp) connector that fixes permanently to the prongs and you have a 3 prong in 5 seconds....but we digress.

Guys, this is about SERVICE LEVELS and INFORMING THE CUSTOMER
 
I have to agree with CeRRaNo - I would not be happy getting a UK plug on a product I bought from a SA shop, thats just BS. If it was a plain old 2 prong, no problem, happens all the time. But to get something that you actually cant even use without going and buying something else, sorry thats bs.

Bit OT but the mother in law bought a USB printer at incredible corruption and the sales man told her that there is no USB cable included. Luckily I had a spare one at work.

Don't think I have ever bought a printer with a USB cable included. That has pretty much been the norm since I can remember.

Can't imagine how an online shop is supposed to look into every box to be able to warn the customers of all the shortcomings. They just distribute the stuff between the suppliers and the customers.

My issue may not be yours, nobody asked you specifically for your comment. If you dont wanna read it , move onto another thread..dont get personal because your comments about international markets have been debunked.

If you expect a lower level of service thats your perogative.

At least he told her.... so you could arrange one. not go home, dig in the box, find its missing, drive back to IC and get one or similar. That's better service imho.

What I'm saying is instead of having a hernia remedy it yourself if it's easy.

Apologies,

I agree that is the best solution. I just don't think its normal practice. I've never bought a piece of electronic equipment from S.A (online or otherwise) and had a UK plug. I've got at least 5 spare of those, one of which I am using. It shouldn't have to be the case.
