I've been thinking about this for a while now as there are some rumors flying around that Unisa qualifications are no longer recognised overseas. Are there any Unisa graduates who have moved, or if you know of any friends/relatives who are graduates and have moved abroad recently? How was your experience with getting your Unisa degree accredited overseas?
I'm trying to figure out if I should continue studying here or find some better (albeit more expensive) prospects

I don't know where else I can ask this I hope this doesn't fall under spam or inappropriate content.

I think it may depend more on what you study than where you study.

A degree in Mathematics will still hold value wherever you go, for example.

Nonsense. A degree in mathematics from Uncle Julius' Quality Education Make Exceptional College isn't worth jack.

It is not though (malema education), if you look at the materials they have to go through.

My Unisa degree was recognised In Scotland when I applied for a Masters.

I haven't heard of any place not recognising them.

Okay that gives me some hope, I want to apply to Columbia for a Masters but fingers crossed on that one. What year did you complete your Unisa degree?

2014

UNISA give you a Subject declaration that you can send to Columbia along with a copy of the Diploma. That should be good enough.

I did a post-grad with MIT, using my unisa bcom.
had to send them the saqa eval with it though.

The answer can be both yes and no.

It all depends on the country you wish to use it in. Some countries can do a blanket acceptance/refusal of RSA qualifications, whereas the ones I've encountered have a standing body through which you have to apply for accreditation - and they award you with the equivalent qualification or pts depending on their evaluations - and issue you with "catch up" courses you need to complete in case they don't accept your qualification on a 1 to 1 equivalency.

It might even be that the same body accepts SOME unisa courses and denies others from unisa.

Might be worth your while to check up with the specific country's requirements where you're thinking of using it in.
