Are we at "War" in SA?

sobering stats. hope somone in guvmnt takes notice......errr...bwahhhhhh......

Most murders are domestic.

Read what "war" is. Yes, we have an unprofound violent crime / murder rate, but we are not at war.

In all wars, the group(s) experiencing the need to dominate other group(s) are unable and unwilling to accept or permit the possibility of a relationship of fundamental equality to exist between the groups who have opted for group violence (war). The aspect of domination that is a precipitating factor in all wars, i.e. one group wishing to dominate another, is also often a precipitating factor in individual one-on-one violence outside of the context of war, i.e. one individual wishing to dominate another.

I don't know about every else but that kinda sounds like SA to me...

Well in a sense if you think about, it 50 murders a day is plenty. So more have died here since the early 90's than the US lost fighting in vietnam.

More people die in a day here than died fighting an actual war . It's kinda like those airborne diseases we hear are going kill off half the worlds population while aids does it. Sure aids is slow it still does more damage than bird, pig, horse etc flu.

? KIA: 58217, we cover that in 2 odd years. No this is nothing like an actual war but in terms of numbers perhaps.

yeah, I have to break the curfew and run to the shops in a bit.

Yeah it's mainly just in the townships and rural areas. Not a problem, it's all cool as long as it stays there....

Of course you can add other crimes like rape which is not rampant in Libya as far as I know

To put things in perspective the Christchurch Earthquake death toll is currently at 166 or about 4 days worth of murders in SA.
