I am sick, sick, sick!!! But to ask for the death penalty is like farting against the wind.
 
What effen rights? They acted like animals. Maybe they should try animal rights. Like a rabies dog that is put to "sleep".
 
I tell you now. If anyone did that to me, no matter if they are black, white, indian or whatever. I would hunt them down and kill them myself. I don't care if I then get the death sentence, because frankly, dying a fast death is better than dying of AIDS.

So you would rather it not be reported on in the newspapers so that people just silently be raped and murdered in this country :confused:

Crime, no matter how heinous must be publicised to the maximum extent.

This post is so utterly pathetic that it actually makes me sick.
 
I don't have anything against crime being reported but the mentioning of facts that it's meant to stir emotions that makes me highly the moer in should not be done. The journalist chose what facts to highlight and didn't think of the consequences of mentioning the detail of the crime in the article such as the conversations that lead up to and during the criminal act in it which is just plain sick.

I got very angry after reading the article but then I asked myself what does it help making my blood boil when reading the article? It doesn't help the victim nor does it make the criminal feel worse.

If they were/are making stuff up then you have a point. Otherwise you are just talking garbage. Should we gloss over the depravity of the crime we are all forced to experience because it makes you uncomfortable? Should we pretend it doesn't exist?

People should feel complete and utter disgust at this and be outraged. Hopefully if enough people are disgusted and outraged our voices together can finally be heard by our do-nothing government.

But you're right, lets pretend its not so bad. That way you wont feel anything at all - until its your turn.

News stories reported and written in this manner will not bring people together but drive them further apart.

Government will also not do anything and blame it on poverty saying the criminals didn't know better since the are poor and unemployed. Same old story.

Stories told in this way with a run away and emigrate ending will result exactly in what the article tries to achieve.
The news article could have easily mentioned how the criminals were caught,how stupid they looked or how ashamed their families looked but it didn't.

Think about the affect articles written in this manner have on people. I have stopped to help people at the side of the road and they have declined to be helped because of having perceptions of everyone they don't know are criminals. This is just creating an "only trust who you know" society when in fact it is people who are known to the victim who commit most rapes.

Crime will drive people apart, not the story. Why are people attacked in their private property and the government does NOTHING. You know why, who is the victims 90% of the time? Only when some former members of the government or ANC, who is enriching now themselves, is attacked the police in a huge manhunt confronted the criminals yet in other cases they do little.

Poor idiotic viewpoints like these make the country fall further in demise, its not the article thats the problem it is the sure size and gravity of the out of control crime. You still deny it as does others here. You are complicit with these criminals by virtue of your viewpoint.

Whether you like it or not, the crime statistics themselves point to a vast number of criminals living and operating inside communities - literally committing crimes at will. We have one of the worst conviction rates (literally under 10%) yet one of the highest crime rates. Trusting people are victims of crime every single day. Whether people like you try to sugarcoat it makes very little difference to the reality that fewer and fewer people are trustworthy in this country where crime is eating at the threads that was once fabric.

At the end of the day everyone is a victim of crime in this country - but some people choose to believe that crime is but a perception.

This particular crime is of the worst possible order - the violation of our women should never be tolerated, and just the mere idea that some people would prefer not to know about such evils destroying this beautiful country makes me sick to the pit of my stomach.

Trust whomever you wish to - just don't bother crying when those you trust make you another victim of a never ending list. Good luck - after all, ignorance is bliss.
 
Thank God, we still live in a country where the media has freedom of speech. If it were upto idiots like Adlo - the media would have to be silenced. Pulling wool over peoples eyes to whats really going on.

And immigrating seems to be the only solution right now, if you value your life and your family. It is not the media installing this idea into peoples heads - everyone is saying it. The goverment obviously doesnt care. Its impossible to get a firearm. And even if you do manage to defend your wife / sister from being raped in front of you - and shoot and kill one of these bastards - you will be treated like the criminal and sent to prison

What else can you do but leave?
 
Thats the harsh reality :(, SA is a beautiful country like none other on earth, there is nothing like being at home and being surrounded with fellow south Africans that understand your sense of humor, the SA culture etc... I would love to come back but its unsafe, New Zealand is not all glamor either, the weather is sometimes cr@p, but its safe and news like this is just unheard of here. As long as the crime continues in SA, people will continue leaving in their thousands, thousands will keep coming in from Zim, the crime will continue to increase, more and more families will continue to be raped, tortured and murdered. Soon there will be nothing left, SA will just be a paradise for criminals. Its sick that the government is allowing all of this to happen.

And then there are those who want to silence the media... :eek:
