"Are we intoxicated by the whine"

Ha ha ha ha.... there we go, like I said!

Dude, this thread was not about me. It was about the negativity in this country. A number of us were having fairly decent discussions in here. Yes, it got heated. Yes, it got a little insulting. But they were reasonable discussions. Then you have individuals that come on here after the fact and say things about certain individuals whining without adding anything to the actual topic. Those people are the true chops!

The reason ppl post negative stuff on the forum is of the same reason the editor writes negative stuff in the newspaper, the editor will look at recent events that people feel strongly about and focus on it,the views expressed on the forum is what most of the readers of that article is feeling.

A good response that involved some thinking. Thank you.

I agree with you but as the editor stated, which was the point, why are people so quick to condemn anyone who shares any good news. It will always be written off with comments like "oh wait and see" or "it won't take long for them to screw that up" or whatever.

Also those bad news threads will get hundreds of responses and views yet the good news ones will die a quick death. As stated in the article "are we intoxicated by the whine". Does it make some people feel superior to constantly moan about what they are doing, and saying things about how typical it is of them. We are all South Africans. There should be no us, we, them, they if we truly want this to be a united country. People who say these things clearly have no desire to see unity.

Bravo.

Because like you I was also very positive about my country, but then you see it being destroyed day in and day out and you get to a point where you can't bullsh*t yourself anymore and pretend to see progress when in fact it is completely the opposite.

So, do South Africans whine? If we do, then the article was a waste of time because that's us. And if we don't, it's also a waste of time, because that isn't us

ah killa, you're not a bad dude oke :) i think we keep misinterpreting each other on these forums, because i know for certain that you and Lance would get angry at the same things and that you're both decent guys. it's probably just different things that make us angry, like perhaps you get angry at the people messing up the country and Lance gets upset at the people sitting back and doing nothing, and i think you can both agree that both of these causes are to blame.

it's sad watching two guys that i like argue with insults. i just want you to both know i think you're both ace guys :)

Haha thanx dude :D, damn have some serious catching up to do, had a heavy day. Very true words though

Ya BBSA of course we care about this country!!!!!! that is why so many are unhappy and angry because we love this place and do not want to be another african stat.

+1

yes we complain because we do care. It is very true.

however, those single cell creatures always say "positive" ....... they are the people want to destroy SA.

Nothing wrong with being positive, when that positivity starts turning into saying crime is not as bad as people say then ya it becomes bad.

Everyone deals with things different as well, i am a realistic. So i call it how i see it and cannot BS myself, other people would rather look at the positive side of this country. Not sure where they get their inspiration but ya the world cup is coming!!!!!! :D

Yes it does strike me as odd that all these positive people are probably the ones happy with mediocrity. They swim in it every day and night without a care in the world. They'll most likely say the ANC hasn't done 'a bad job' but could do 'with improvement'. Where they an get this hope that the ruling party will improve is beyond me.

Just remember Lance: The real people who care most about the country are the ones who complain the most, because they are the ones who really want the country to succeed. They do not settle for second best.

sure.... positive is nothing bad. But "everything" is positive then that will be a problem, right? ;)

do you believe "glad to be killed" statement? I mean WTF the person will say this BS if he is a normal person? If he is willing to be killed by someone else, why doesn't he just kill himself? What he is waiting for? Right? ;)

Crime is worse than you say it is, because most of it happens in the townships and you never get to hear about it.
