Not broke but not exactly rolling in money, family decided this year everyone must buy a uni-sex pressie for 150 bucks, wow in previous years xmas pressies have set us back like 3-5k :(, so got alot of money compared to last year, almost enough for my shiny new 42" lcd :).

im broke!:( payday = 25th

fortunately i go on leave until then so i'll hibernate :D

I almost felt like putting in leave earlier the month. Decided to rather ask back R5000 from the extra money I paid on my car. House deposit chomped my disposable cash :p Having to replace the two rear tyres on my car didn't help either :/

Are you broke?... I'm asking this question because in 2007 January i was so broke that when i used R50 it mattered, the Jan month felt like it was two months.:D So i would just like to know from myBB who is broke because of December and who is not? :)

no, i call it a budget. :p

I actually think I'm in pretty good shape considering its January, but I made a point of managing my finances well in December working strictly according to a budget and not splurging on gifts.

January is going to kill me though as I'm going to have to pay a deposit on a trip to Mauritius....

Not exactly broke but thanks to a hectic december I have to take it really easy. Luckily for me I don't need to have a lot of money to have a good time :)

I'm way broke. That's because the car broke, the washine machine broke, the tumble-dryer broke, the aircon broke... :(

not broke, but not rolling in cash either.

had a nice dec holiday at the sea, which I saved up (spending) money for without hubby knowing. My dad paid our petrol there and nack (went to go visit my folks)

Won't go hungry either, as we have a freezer and cupboard full of food.

And some of the parents are still on holiday, so I will only get paid once kiddies return to the school... I think that'll only be around the middle of the month

EDIT: And we had to replace clutch and an inner cv after arriving in PE, as it decided to pack up then. Luckily father-in-law loaned us the money

Not as broke as I was last year January, was running a stricter budget through the year, as I will this year, and didn't go too crazy in December. Had a nice holiday that wasn't as expensive as the year before.

Want to save up for a nice holiday this year though, hope petrol doesn't go too crazy again, amongst other things. At least car payments are fixed, so no surprises there.

I find that making up a budget, and sticking to it, helps considerably.
