I have UK passport as do my kids, daughter is already in Scotland. Only problem is my wife has a South African passport. But no worries, I can find another wife over there.

yeah, i guess you'd be staying right here mate -
"if i get presented an opportunity" what a muppet way to think
then again, they have heaps of idiots over there already, you'd fit right in, crack pipe and all
I am quite happy here. Hence my position.

But I do work on products owned by international clients that I have a very good working relationship with. If they said: "Hey, Konfab, we are tired of outsourcing development to Soof efricans, want a job?" I wouldn't say no.

As you said, it probably won't happen, but I cannot exclude the possibility. And outside of changing my name to Pedro and entering the US illegally, there isn't really other way to get into the country.

Can you not register your marriage in Scotland? It then enables travel on a long-term spousal visa, and possible citizenship no?

Yeah, my wife had permanent residency previously and it won't be too much of a difficulty to get it back. But that wouldn't have been funny like the gag :p

But hey, my wife and I have no intention of going anywhere. Daughter is over there, eldest son has been and plans to go back for good in June, youngest has two years of school left then he wants to go.

But we will stay here and turn the light off.

Any reason for this and NZ?

I know two CA's who moved to each in the last few months.
Nanny states that have nothing better to do than to interfere with people's lives.
US is acceptable because they have a lot stronger constitutional protections of freedom than anywhere else in the world, despite the best efforts of politicians to infringe them.
Outside of that, the best protection against tyranny is to live in a place where politicians are so retarded that they cannot pour water out a boot if the instructions to do so are written on the heel.

Leaving next month already, the issue going forward especially with power cuts is how badly supply chains will be effected.

It's all well and good having the means to leave but if kak hits the fan, you think flights will just run as usual? Heck we're still having issues with jet fuel supply.

Even you guys who work from home, what if your ISP or FNO runs out of backup power or diesel to keep the networks up? Supply from markets to your local pick n pay will be effected if farmers run low on diesel to transport stuff.

If you're going to leave do it asap if you have the ability to do so. This has been another friendly doom n gloom post

I know Neuk is a valid Scrabble word, in English, but i hope that the DUTCH meaning of Neuk is not lost on you!

It is not lost on me at all, admittedly I didn't realise it's Dutch meaning when I started using it in the early 2000's, but I was made aware of it fairly early on.

If SA ever does get its mess sorted out, cN always come back and spend that foreign currency

Sure they'll be plenty of property deals to scoop up once things go awol

Would f uck off tomorrow if I could replicate what I have here, abroad... but I don't know of any other country with rolling black outs, rampant crime, water shedding, crumbling infrastructure and presidents with standard 1. So I guess I'm staying...
