Ok Slootvreter, so you condone making wildly baseless statements like that, which erode confidence in the police and drive potential protesters away out of fear? The undertone is the WHY of the statement: unless you can explain to me WHY a white guy would say a thing like that about a predominantly black police force, then I don't see how you can shoot down my assessment of it.

Jesus Christ. You so badly want this to be racist when it isn't. Baseless does NOT equate racist. If you want it to be racist, keep it in your head.

EDIT: My opinion of the police force is that they are largely fcking useless and inept. Is that also racist?

It highlights a problem with the general 'opposition' (being anyone anti-Zuma); even the 'opposition' can't agree on what needs to be done, so how do you convince someone who is a long time ANC supporter to try make a stand. If stats are anything to go by, the people who really can't afford to miss a day's work are most likely ANC supporters, so how do you convince someone like that you're fighting for their cause (in wanting Zuma out) and want them to join you when you're living a 'luxurious lifestyle' compared to them but aren't willing to sacrifice a little to make a change. Words matter but actions speak louder to the ordinary man on the street.

I think we acknowledge everyone has obligations but if no one follows through and marches tomorrow, I think it would speak volumes to the masses that this all is just a storm in a teacup

Calling people names that aren't as passionate about your cause or that have other priorities doesn't work to unite anyone it only divides.
You can follow the ANC example of beating people up that don't join in protest and force unity.
There doesn't need to be 100% agreement and only 1 plan. Anything people can do is fine. It will escalate, fighting amongst our selves is the same as ANC supporters buring their own school down.

What is the motivation for making a baseless statement, Slootvreter? You still can't explain it to me, but you're getting angrier and angrier at me. Why?

You are assuming he is a racist, when he didn't mention race. If you haven't noticed, a very large % of the public does not have any faith in the SAPS, and that includes all races.

Again it comes down to motivation. Are you this naive that you don't recognise that white people making baseless (and insulting) pronouncements about black people tends to be motivated by racism? Of course, if you've got an alternative motivation for the honourable poster in question, please do share it?

Put in for a day's leave and stay at home. That way you could argue you are supporting the effort without having to march. If you work from home, then spend the day working instead. That way you could argue that you helped keep the economy floating.

For this to work, do not post before Friday what you are planning to do. Wait for the aftermath after the march and then post about what you did when you know which way the wind blew on Friday.

A prefect strategy!

Aside: I see the weather man is predicting really high winds for CT starting tomorrow and extending in to the weekend.
