Same here. I'm trying to think of even having had an opportunity to do something like this before, and I'm drawing a blank. Sure the DA and OUTA have held their rallies, for example, but to see the tipping point that tens of thousands of South Africans reached together was inspirational.

Yup - I've come away changed in some small way. Hard to define, but I feel like I'm a small piece in the part of something important, but my perspective has also been broadened to the bigger picture we need to look at here, as well as our various inculcated attitudes, many of which are very unhelpful.

There are times when the BFLF calls on a ‘radical’ change only to be announced by Zuma the next day or week. It is clearly orchestrated. They are driven by social media, and now with the Bell Pottinger debacle I can only speculate on the why they exist. It was only when the ANC lost much voter’s support when the BFLF came into its existence.
 
Today was a great day in the fact that it was the first time we managed to mass mobilize people from across all spectrums to gather and march. At the same time, while in jhb CBC after the march waiting for an uber, I got to see the less hopeful side of things when myself and a colleague were threatened by 3 guys with knobkierries and spears to "f#ck off back to Europe, we don't need u here, f#ck off". Luckily a security guard intervened and they walked off.

Nope, as I posted earlier, there was an EFF guy saying that and four or five ANC people. I think someone posted it here, I was standing just behind the camera (or past the people, depends on the angle of the shot, I was towards Parliament side).

Busy uploading 3 videos, all shaky cam due to the wind/walking with the crowd. :p
Another 120MB to upload, so ~35 minutes. I had to sadly degrade it or else I'd be sitting here till tomorrow.

That sucks bro, sorry to hear that. I parked my car in the basement parking of the Newtown Junction Mall, just around the corner from Mary Fitzgerald Square. It was 100% safe and at the end of the march I could just walk down a single alley (with a lot of other marchers headed that way) and I was there. I'd recommend everybody tries to do that: take your own reliable transport and park in a secure off-street location near the end of the march.

It's these sorts of skills that all new protesters gotta learn, just to avoid the few opportunist hooligans.
 
On another note, does anybody know how national treason works?

Let's say that we end up finding out that some people in the ANC and others in the BFLF are guilty of spreading complete lies with the sole purpose of dividing the population, can they be found guilty of treason? Back in ye olde days I know people used to get lined up against a wall and shot for treason, but in South Africa I guess we'd have to be happy with a nice long stay in prison (and no happy endings afterwards).
 
I dont think this is once off, so those that missed out on the excitement, you can still be a part of history. I imagine the only way to resolve this is to keep escalating until there is real change. If we do not rise up now, do you think there will be a free and fair election in 2019 after Zuma has turned on his own party? This is kinda it. You cant afford to be slackers.
