I think its a vicious circle: because you're bitter and cynical you think that. And then thinking that causes you to become bitter and cynical.

Yes it sucks, but I have learned this is how society works. The same goes for guys. People know what they have (regarding looks) and very rarely will they aim lower (unless they want to have a 'feeling of power' over the other person, that's another story though). Men usually aim extremely higher in the looks department, but recover when they get shot down (usually) and try again.

If her problem is only a 'bit' of weight, why doesn't she hit the gym? I have seen radical transformations, so there is no real excuse (unless health reasons are involved).

Has she tried to date guys in her 'weight class'? Is she shy? I don' think a bit of weight is the only factor that is stopping her from meeting guys, something else must be involved.

+1 - almost always these people dont lower their standards. There are plenty of guys out there who would willingly go out with a slightly overweight girl. Im not overweight, and will never go out with somebody who is, if they have a problem with that, they can hit the gym as you said.

Theres no reason why anybody should be alone, if she tries hard enough she will find somebody.

Has she cried about how terrible her boyfriend treats her? And the situation she is in? Why she can't leave yet because of XYZ?

No she hasn't actually, I guess it is because attraction is not a choice. I might currently be the biggest fool but I will at least learn from it (if it is a mistake)

Yassas guys! Why so EMO? Hell, it's awesome to be single! I don't think humans were made to be monogamous and pegged down. Forget the women and live a little!
 
You know whats weird, they say cpt has a very favorable ratio of men to women plus we heading into the summer vac time yet, look at the location of most of the posters here ;)
