Area has no ADSL

Hi guys

who can i beg at Telkom to commission our exchange for ADSL ???? Can u believe it :mad:
 
Where? According to a recently article (also published on MyBB) Telkom claimed that all their digital exchanges were ADSL ready.

They lied , Rynsoord , Benoni

If u look on availability for this area it will say , "no plans to roll out in future" also confirmed with their customer services department
 
Even if you get hold of someone fairly high up at Telkom, it won't help you much, they will just say not enough people for that exchange to enable or upgrade ADSL for that exchange.. or some other lame excuse...

Sorry buddy you out of luck when it comes to Telkom having to spend money on their hardware....

the community have signed petitions requesting ADSL - alas , surrounding area has ADSL tho
 
had this type of prob with a client 2 years back in fourways / randburg (far north in fourways) telkom didn't see point in putting DSLAM into that exchange (in an AH area), but since their offices were sitting on the edge of two exchanges, we were able to apply for another phone line, we asked the installer to use the randburg exchange instead, we got 384kbps ADSL, much better then the iburst crap at the time.

Try asking if you are on the edge of two exchanges, apparently they can put you on a different exchange if you're "kinda" on the edge. just that you will be far from the exchange and won't be able to get fast ADSL connections.
 
You could try to contact Minister of telecommunications - A friend of mine was on waiting list for ADSL for 2,5 years (continually told that the exchange had no additional ports), got fed up 2 months ago, called the misiters office and complained. They asked him to send them the details. His ADSL was installed 2 days later !
