ARGH CPU upgrade dilemma advice!!

TheRift WTf are you talking about?

Killadoob Its not the fact that it had pins (AFAIK it was the last socket before LGA775 which has the pins on the mobo) that I'm stating its out date technology (the cpu itself, not the pins), you should move up now before they start ripping you off more, I would think a 965 mobo also has AGP (2x to 3x over priced ) and DDR1 ram (2X over priced) so you going to be paying through your know nosed, The quad core extreme beats the i5 AFAIK (if you can't afford it now, then just buy a cheaper CPU, there is quite a range and buy it when you can) LGA775 isn't that old, its current

You shouldn't post before taking your meds.

Tpex you should just leave you're trolling and talking rubbish now. 965 is more or less just behind i5 750 - goes blow for blow but i5 wins more often. It is not outdated tech.

No I think it's pretty decisive.... 4890 2gb beats the 260 even oc'd across the board.

You're going to have to hit reviews through a search on google. Try bit-tech or some such sites.

Pricing came in last week, starting if I recall correctly just short of R1K for the base model.

thing is, i wanna run win 7 but also want the xp virtual running.should i just upgrade cpu and/or mobo cause mobo can handle 4gb RAM or should i go i3/i5 route,DDR3,1156 mobo?

Well it all depends on your budget dude.

Why do you want to run the virtual xp thing though, what does not work on windows 7?
