Army on standby

we ALL know this.

but what are you trying to say?
Going to war with Zim because their people are coming through our borders and taking jobs?

That is crazy:confused:

The problem lies with OUR OWN government, for weak (or zero) border control.

If you are saying we should go to war with zim, and kill even more ppl, you are even worse than those burning zim people with tires/etc.

border control is not the easiest thing, obviously we make look hard

Zimbabweans have a choice
live in poverty or come to south africa

our biggest problem is Zimbabwe and if we dont sort it out soon we are going to have a civil war because the Zimbabweans will start to fight back because they have nothing to go back to in Zimbabwe

they may as well die over hear because they are basically dead over there if they go back

3 million estimated Zimbabweans in this country with a population of 46m is very high man

South africans have no jobs and i can assure you 3 million Zimbabweans are not going to make life better

if they dont sort out Zimbabwe there will be alot of trouble in this country

in Kempton park there was a huge commotion going on yesterday nite already.

Lots of police sirens and choppers

I also live in Constantia , Will be a little weird to have a army roaming around.. but since i got robbed last week , what the heck let them come.

I have no idea where they will be staying. He just wanted to know if it's fine that he stays with us if needed. They just received standby notice, this apparently means they needs to have their gear packed and await a briefing.

This can take days. He just wanted to make sure he doesn't have to sleep in Soweto he says :D

I'll phone him again in a little while and keep you guys updated.

If ur disputing the fact that we need to put a stop to zims coming ito our country i'm 110% with you man. i even suggested giving the MyBB community fund to getting the victims back to zim to scare (even if a small percentage) a few possible ppl from coming to SA.

but thats another story.

Going to war is not something I would like SA to get into - then we are no better than the other african countries. we will turn into "ust another failed frican country"

no if we dont do something about zimbabwe we have already failed as a country

there is to much belief in war is bad, what is happening to a great country is bad and to sit and watch it and do nothing is even worse

we are no better than any other african country because we sit back and do nothing

typical of Africa

On the bright side at least his stand-in might have the cajones to do whatever it is that needs to be done ;)

Good point

The last time the army (or at least individuals in uniform) was in our neighborhood they robbed a neighbour's house and ran away under fire from the guy living across the road

Wow a crisis and surprise, surprise Mbeki heading out the country . At least he was here at the outbreak, I guess that's progress:o

He is off to do something more important. Afterall, when your country is heading for an economic meltdown and the populace are killing each other, it is nothing new. His good buddy Bob said so.

Get your hot army chick at a riot near you.

Tanks, ammo and condoms sold separately.

:D:D

Ffs i sometimes really wish SA had a real president. :(:(:mad:

condoms are also stapled in the middle to a pamphlet saying avoid aids use a stapled hole filled condom today!!!!!

Live ammunition FTW.

Agreed. I was quite shocked at how on Carte Blanche the police were so blase about being shot at. Pretty much standing around firing the odd rubber bullet WTF

They know that the guys shooting at them are ex-SANDF.

Of course some of those ex-SANDF are also in the Ekurheleni Metro by the number of holes in the press photographer.

sounds like the time's almost ready for a coup - given that the army's talking through the media, and telling us and union buildings that they're ready to be mobilized, but mbeki has to give the order - thus making it thabo's 'fault' if the violence isnt quelled, in the public mind.

The coup's about to hit the fan?
:D

Also got to love the fact that the Presidents spokesman has no idea of the request for assistance, like they ever have any clue, and when its announced will blame the media for taking his statement out of context.

Hi Guys,

My cousin phoned me from Bloemfontein. He knows I live here and wanted to make arrangements for accomodation (He's a Soldier in the SANDF). They have received notice to be ready to deploy. Apparently the Police have requested, Soldiers, aircrafts and armoured vehicles.

Anyone know anything about it ?

Aircrafts? Cool... Perhaps they can do some bombing runs in the troubled areas. take out the groups of trouble makers.
