Army on standby

I'd like to see the signature. R 100 says he's so sloshed he can't stand upright :o

Amazing that an oke that practices quiet diplomacy, calls in the army on his own citizens with barely a how-de-do.

O great one please graces us mere mortals with your great knowledge, what you would have done in that situation?

I name thee supreme armchair general :D

Thank you, thank you. :D I should have probably worded my statement differently, meant more on the political side than the police themselves, they seem to have been doing all they can.

Good thing they are getting the army ready, my friend flies for one of the vehicle tracking services and last night while on pursuit over the Vosloorus township he was advised by the police chopper pilot to evacuate their ground crew as the police were withdrawing from the area because it was too dangerous for them there.

When the police have to evacuate you know its bad.

If I was the leader of a bunch of money-grubbing, self-serving idiots like those that form the ANC, I would also drink myself to a standstill. Sort of like going to a bar and drinking the women beautiful.

Too dangerous? For the police? The South African Police? The must have lost all their skilled labour then, because there was a time when the South African police could handle anything you threw at them.

Damn...pretty unreal thread this.

Yesterday or so I was still telling someone here "Not in a million years".:o

*Goes to watch The Siege again*

Long, long ago. Anyone who thinks otherwise has been at their tik lolly too much. Same goes for SANDF.

Morning Guys.

Current developments. The troops where on standby the whole night, however the Army and the Police can not come to a conclusion as to who is running the show. Thus no deployment yet. The troops should be moved out during the course of the morning.

Troops are dressed in full combat gear, and action plans have been discussed.

I think they just need to get the politics out of the way first as there seems to be uncertainty.

LOL. :D

It's a bit of a conundrum deploying the army. We all want things to end peacefully and I think having the army present would definitely facilitate an end to all this violence but also, on the other side of the coin, deploying the army is like going back to the old days.

I would say that it might have been because they were outnumbered, I have had it happen before.

We were patrolling in the township and as we came round a corner we were confronted by a group of about three hundred people, they were busy blocking a road and setting tires on fire.

It was actually funny since everybody sort of froze for about a minute and then the stones started to fly and we retreated.

We went and got some help and then chased them back

How so?

Have we moved beyond having a use for the army?

The army has it's use yes, it should be called in to restore calm I agree but what message does it send out to the rest of the world (not that we have a spotlessly clean rep to begin with) when they see SA as a 'police state'?
