Article: ANC government's performance to be assessed

Cabinet will assess the ANC government's performance since 1994 at its lekgotla in Pretoria, Minister in the Presidency Collins Chabane said on Tuesday.

"The 20 year review details how we've performed since 1994; it is a thick, structural and detailed 21 chapter document," Chabane told reporters in Pretoria where the lekgotla is being held.

LOL @ it is a thick, structural and detailed 21 chapter document

Is it written in comic sans 48 size?

Just look out the window. See the service delivery protest, anti e-tolls protest, corruption etc to see how "good" government has done. How many jobs have we lost? How may foreign investors are still intrested in SA? Look at the rand/dollar... the gold price...

people cannot self-evaluate effectively.

an independent valuation should be fine.

I can also fail at everything and then give myself 9/10 at the end of the say "with room for improvement"

"ANC government's performance to be assessed" should read "ANC are going to write some crap to try make themselves look good"

Mind you, the average ANC supporter can't read, so what does it matter.

While I agree with you on most of the above, the gold has has very little to do with us. In fact, gold being as high as it is now is the only saving grace for the gold mines. This coupled with the ZAR/USD at the moment is the only thing keeping pretty much our entire primary sector afloat.

The DA's already done that, and unfortunately a lot of F's were harmed during the exercise.

if it's anything like our education system, i expect 100% pass rate.

ok.. my bad. Thought if government was more investor friendly we would see better prices.

it is not impossible that the intent of this is actually to lambaste "government"

Remember the ANC has two conflicting ideology camps within it: One views the constitutional state and democracy as the ANCs great "gift" to SA and that the ANC is the natural grantor of good government; the other that apartheid has simply transformed field while a transitional era to the national democratic revolution is paved in.

The SACP would like nothing more than to put forward a thick dossier on the failure of government as a result of the constraints which the ANC has imposed on itself and to drive for a second revolution. The focus will be on the failure of producing politically educated and productive workers rather than on the destruction of a public education system and failure to expand access to education to all with a recommendation to increase oversight of schools; the focus will be on the failure to stop violent criminals with a recommendation of militarizing the police and increasing the authority and power of law enforcement rather than on rooting out police corruption; the report will highlight fruitless and wasteful expenditure and blame a "capitalist class". Expect Treasury to be criticized and for there to be assaults on the integrity of the superior courts. Expect everything except for the recognition that Jacob Zuma and Blade Nzimande are responsible for so much suffering in this country.

Should take 5 minutes.

Show me any one reasonably satisfactory. Sad fact is "jobs for buddies" irrespective of skills is killing this country.

The truth will come out for sure........................... and the BS that will be released will be believed by the masses.

Only 100%? That's very pessimistic.

:D

I cannot see anything positive coming out of this self evaluation. It will more than likely be a propaganda exercise to shift the problems we currently have on the previous regime and say that Zuma is trying to correct previously made mistakes (or some *****e like that)

The detailed 21 chapter document is so thick they will never run out of toilet paper.
