No zimbabwe was not doing that well prior to 2000, what killed zim was mugabe kicking out the whites. The anc know the gravy train is driven by the whites, either way you look at the wealth of this country is made by the whites for now, this is changing but the anc are changing it far more intelligently than mugabe, he kicked out whites who knew what they were doing and replaced them with nothing.
For the most part there is a new well educated generation of black folk coming through who will be able to cope when taking over from the whites without the anc having to kick the whites out. We will gradually be replaced by black folk and basically you guys are saying that will lead to zim.
Do you think the blacks want to end up like zim? Do you think the anc fat cats want to be stealing from a poor country? Not a chance. We have many many problems but a zimbabwe style collapse is not one of them. I could agree with zim 2.0 but geezuz after two decades we are not even close yet people are still beating their drums.

I have met some of these guys, and am impressed by them, I am just not sure that they will come through in sufficient numbers and/or will have sufficient influence to collapse the ANC, especially the old stalwarts like Zuma.
Also, I was quite shocked on a recent TV program by the number of young black yuppies that support Malema.

There is a better group of youth coming through the ranks and that will change, but will take time. The current cANCer government is loosing ground through their own corruption, lies and stupidity. Unfortunately there isn't any country, run by blacks which is a 1st world country. Go to any country in Africa and it looks like a war zone and is filthy with too many hungry and jobless people mainly caused by the corruption of the government, tribal wars and territorial wars.
There will come a time I believe in SA when the people will stand up and say no more, and only then we as a country will move forward with all races knowing the pitfalls and traps of the past and SA will only then start to gain ground. Hopefully this time will come for all before we loose too much trust with the real first world countries.
I am not a racist, I am a realist and this is my opinion so I will not respond to any comments here on. I just detest and hate injustice, crime, lies and corrupt people - which is basically our current ruling government whom will only lead this country to doom and gloom more and more every day they are in power.

I don't for one second think the anc will be toppled. The anc will be around for a very long time but they will not turn this country into a pile of shyte over night, even the current government knows they cannot do it nor would they even consider it.
The educated youngsters are still voting for them and it won't change, do you guys really think the people who gave the blacks their freedom will fall? You must be on crack if you think that.

When is that going to happen, we are one of very countries that can drink from the tap and seriously it's been nearly 20 years and the people are saying the same things, zimbabwe 2.0, the drinking water will be gone blah blah blah.
You see what i figured out is that negatives can last decades and decades because at some point that negativity will prove correct, it may take a century but it should come true but what i find amazing is the same people who said this country was fked nearly 20 years are still the same people drumming on about it now LOL
The people who say they are planning to leave when the shyte happens but they never leave are so lame, seriously if people are convinced it will go bad they should pack up and leave, i think nearly 18 years is long to have planned the escape. For sure we not without our problems but i cannot see zim 2.0 anymore. Malema was removed and that was our biggest threat.
The anc will never lose power, even educated black folk vote for them and let's be honest the majority win elections if they are allowed to vote.

No. Yes. Do you think any of the people in the rest of Africa wanted to live in their current conditions? The decay takes a while, things slowly deteriorate but eventually start accelerating to the point where it reaches a exponential curve, once you have hit that your chances of going back are slim.
Usually when you reach that point it's to late and things go into a downward spiral.
First part I agree with you. Second part not. The shyte does not happen overnight, it starts off really slowly and then starts accelerating by which point you are screwed. The government does not care about the future, it's their time now to feed and enrich a few elite at the cost of the majority, I doubt they are guided by some moral obligation to their constituents.
The only reason Zuma got rid of Malema was because he was a threat to his own presidency, it had nothing to do with his calls for mine nationalization or his racist views!
Havent you noticed how Zuma only wants puppets around him? In charge of the police, in charge of the ANCYL, in charge of the judiciary. He wants to control everything, from the press to law enforcement.. Why? So his family and friends can carry on looting this countries resources

You're too focused on this idea that there will be JUST ONE person that will ruin the country.
It's never going to be JUST Zuma or Malema. The rot has spread a lot further in our government. If you remove one problem there are several other's waiting to step up for their turn to [-]lead[/-] get rich.
Also, regarding Zim, they gained independence in 1980 and were doing ok for about 20 years.
So yes it does take a long time for the collapse to happen. SA seems to be on the same path right now, with no signs of any disaster having been averted.
