Article: Apartheid will continue with current education system: Vavi

Apartheid will not end and black people will not experience real freedom until free and high quality education becomes a reality, said Cosatu general secretary Zwelinzima Vavi on Sunday.

"Education is certainly not free and equal for all, we have huge inequalities in our education provision."

You can't spell education without cat.

I'm so tired of reading and listening to black people looking for excuses.

WTF??? You are running this country....DO something about it!!

yes, all white people studied for free
OR
All white people applying for study loans in the past were successful
OR
Most white people paid cash for their study fees...back pocket

It's all so stupid, mind numbingly stupid. I went to an old model C school in the 80's, looking at it's website now the Head Boy is black, the 2 deputy Head boys are black, the rugby first team is 75% black, the majority of pupils appear to be black, are these all white pupils in disguise? Or are they black pupils getting a decent education at a state school?

When I read stories like this I really despair for SA, as long as there are empty headed idiots spouting crap there is no chance for race relations normalising in the next 50 years, these brainless "struggle" dinosaurs need to die out and hopefully allow more tolerant generations to come through.

Until then, I cannot see SA as a place for a white citizen to be accorded equal status in everyday life by the Govt.

What he says he is all well and fine...right up 'til where he starts blabbering on about 'free'. Is it really that hard to understand that SOMEONE has to pay for it?

I wont mind my tax money going to schools rather than overpriced private jets, or overpriced highway projects, or overpriced luxury cars, or overpriced celebrations, or overpriced soccer stadiums, or overpriced...

Rather the actual truth:

Apartheid will not end and black people will not experience real freedom until free and high quality education becomes a reality. The ANC must stop oppressing its own to be in power, they are keeping you stupid and have no real plan to uplift, but only loot your money and your votes.

Freedom is certainly not free and equal for all, we have huge inequalities in our country whereas the ANC is actively keeping the divide open and real through racial propaganda and other means.

Fortunately, bantu education is no longer the white man's problem, they have to sort it out.

So bad education is still Apartheids fault? When books are undelivered, teachers underpaid, schools receive less funding than ever before? And yet you and your union still vote for the SAME PEOPLE who steal your childrens money?

:wtf:

I pay over R1600 per month for my one child's education. Its high quality education but certainly not free, Vavi you silly goose.

Time and time again this happens - apartheid will be blamed until doomsday! You have been running the country for 18 (I think) years and yet you still blame apartheid! Paaaathetic!!!

"Only 7% of schools have libraries, only 5% have stocked science laboratories and just 1% of the schools have internet access," he said.

That's a scary figure. Anybody here goto a school which didn't have these facilities? (I'm referring to those that matriculated after 1994)

I had internet. Granted, it was dial-up. But still, had access to all those. And all the schools I know of has those. Probably talking about those crappy places out in the arse ends of the world..

WE had a library, we also had cake sales and other functions to raise money for books
