It should be on par with White kids, not better not worse. BEE at education level would just be bringing everybody on par and when you go to the job sector your chance should be 100% equal to your equal counter part and not based on skin colour.

Did they have any education whatsoever before white people got here?
No they did not.
So no disadvantage there.

They are getting one now thanks to white people, so they should be called "advantaged", or "blessed", or "ungrateful".

That is a gross exaggeration. I don't give credibility to any research which claims "almost all South Africans". E.g. in mining I can state good BEE deals by AngloCoal, AngloPlatinum, Impala, Kumba Iron Ore, BHP Billiton, Exxaro, EyeSizwe, ARM, Northam. I can state bad BEE deals e.g. Goldfields, Lonmin, DeBeers SA.

Well that's balls :/ Surely there should be a limit to number of generations since each generation will get better and better.

What makes one deal 'good' & another 'bad'?

Good ones are broadbased. e.g. Kumba Iron Ore prefers a balance of employee participation, investment in communities, procurement, skills development, health and environment. Even aspects like saving water count towards BEE scorecard. AngloAmerican, BHP Billiton created ARM, EyeSizwe, Exxaro which are great examples of black owned mining companies.

Bad ones are less broadbased. e.g. Goldfields, Lonmim seem to prefer few politically connected individuals to own most of the BEE equity. Both companies are examples of how unsustainable the model is. Every time the ANC office changes, the companies must align themselves with new politically connected individuals.

My previous company employed more than 300 scientist/engineers who are mostly white. There is no way they could ever meet employment equity targets because of general skills shortage. The company achieved its BEE rating through employee share scheme, education, skills development, bursaries. Its another example of how a BEE rating can be achieved without changing the demographics of the company.
