They may win PE or EL in a coalition, but i very much doubt they will come anywhere near winning Gauteng.

Well, after the last elections the DA were crushed in GP, but had half a chance in EC. I think DA should focus on winning the capes before heading closer to the ANC strongholds.


Hopefully ANC voters decide to change vote or just not vote this time around.

I think their next target should be to take gauteng (and obviously fend off a two thirds majority in the national elections). A firm grasp on GP and WP will help them in the other provinces if they run them both like the WP is run now. Then they can worry about the national elections.

Nope... lets break it down for you then shall we.

The DA claim they want 30% of the vote in 2014. Garson007 said that wouldn't be much of a black eye for the ANC. I then broke the results down to show him that it would be since it would put the ANC down to just over 50% of the vote.

I love the way our democracy is growing, albeit at a slow pace. But given the legacy we have to deal with, its been interesting to be part of.

Personally I'm more interested in the mystery that is Ramphele's decision.

They had the chance to alter the constitution to give them those type of sweeping powers, they have lost that now. So IMO, that scenario is unlikely to succeed. Not saying it will stop them from trying though...
