Article: Dramatically reduce electricity usage to avoid blackouts - Eskom

This is the problem with involuntary funding of a monopoly. There is no recourse when incompetence is the ruling standard.

Oh but there is .. Ghadaffi also thought he was untouchable before his people came for him.

Can you also dramatically reduce your electricity payments? :o

Zuma's people seem to be a lot more incompetent that Ghadaffi's people, so I don't think anyone will be doing anything about the current government here.

In Eishkom's ideal world, you will pay for the electricity and not use it (the last time we had the blackouts they complained afterwards about lower revenues)

Oooh... I totally forgot about that! "You're using too much power!" then "You're not using enough power so we're not getting enough money!"

That's government logic in a nutshell.

Were they not recently given a wack of money to resolve and upgrade their grids and power stations to be able to accomodate the growth and demands - or as per all the posts was this money blown on bonuses and back hands as in any other ANC powered estabilishment?? Probably a silly statement/question??
