Article: Give back the land: EFF

Joelus on a serious note, do you want racism to end and live in a world where all races live as one?
I want racism to end, yes, of course, but that can never happen until there is a level playing field.
The legacy of past injustice that we continue to live with today needs to be addressed and reversed.
South Africa is still one of the most unequal societies in the world and that is a direct consequence of apartheid and colonialism. How ever much you want to criticize the ANC for failing to address these issues (and they have failed, and deserve your criticism), whoever is in power here will need to put in place strategies to redress and compensate those who remain disadvantaged due to our past social injustice. This unfortunately includes redistribution of unused land to people who can use it if given the opportunity and training but who are not in a position to purchase the land themselves.

1) Blacks sold blacks into slavery
2) The cartoon mocks American civil rights
3) Entrenched white privilege in the black mind-set, you know which race the US president is, right?

1) Irrelevant

Some 90% of farms redistributed to South Africa's black population from white farmers are not productive, the government has said.
Land reform minister Gugile Nkwinti warned the land might be repossessed if the farms continued to fail.
Almost 60,000 sq km (23,000 sq miles) have been redistributed under policies aimed at benefiting black people who were left impoverished by apartheid.
The land was bought from white farmers who sold up voluntarily.

So we have lost roughly 54000km2 of productive farmland to this stupid policy of land redistribution.... AWESOME.

Then your cartoon is irrelevant. Besides, it is only you who is going on about "unused land", there is audio and visual evidence in this thread that the EFF wants all land since 1652 "returned" which is owned by white people.

There are many white people in SA who is by no means in the position to purchase property. Then there are blacks purchasing property in dominantly white areas, also managing to live in unity with no issues amongst the whites, why don't these blacks have a problem?

Let me be straight, you want compensation by doing bugger all.

So, the party you elected decided to steal instead of doing their jobs and this is somehow the white man's fault? If you want the legacy of past injustice resolved you shouldn't create an even bigger legacy of injustice in its place.

redistribution of unused land to people who can use it if given the opportunity and training but who are not in a position to purchase the land themselves.

What is your understanding of 'unused land' ?

Regardless of whether it was unused it was bought and paid for, and sorry, if you can't afford to buy land then you don't get land.

I want racism to end, yes, of course, but that can never happen until there is a level playing field.

If you want a level playing field, then the rest of your sentence is immaterial.

If you want a level playing field, that all races should stop there crap (crap like that pic you posted).

If you want a level playing field, then everyone should forget about the past and work together towards the future.

Not more accurate to state that the white man got up on the ledge using the ladder (read technology etc brought with from Europe)? Once on the ledge the white ban built infrastructure, industries and commerce and now the black man wants what's on the ledge all to himself?

Yes, of course, the white man used the cheap labour of the black man to build these industries. The question is how was it possible for the minority to do this?

Today there are black people on the ledge as well, amongst various other ethnic groups, this ledge is ultimately shared today. The problem is with those blacks, whites, purples and greens who wants to be on the ledge without contributing towards ascending upwards, now they create an excuse which will be supported by many as the people on the ledge are the minority and so it is the same story with the next ledge.

Then there is this, why many blacks have little issue with Zuma and king Goodwill? (there are many more examples)
