Article: Help oust the ANC: Agang

Voters must help oust the ANC in next year's elections, said Agang SA. Mamphela Ramphele's party launched its national election campaign in Johannesburg on Saturday.

People had not had a more important opportunity than the one they had now, Ramphele said at the launch, according to a statement issued by Agang.

Same election pitch than all the other parties. Nothing about what they can offer, so the ANC will win again by landslide. Sadly only EFF put something different on the table albeit crap.

Help oust the ANC. great campaign. We might as well campaign for mod on this forum as "get rid of RPM" for example.

why don't we change the way elections work and vote for the party we DON'T want to run the country? seems more honest

That's not the sum total of their campaign, so stop pretending it is. And it's stupid to pretend that part of the point of voting isn't to get rid of a party you consider a failure. It shouldn't be the only thing your campaign is about, obviously, but it's still a valid thing to say.

Read a bit.

i'm not pretending anything, i just have a growing irritation with billboards that look like this:

the VF+ has also begun doing it now. how about instead of "Stop Zuma", they put up "Better Education" or "DA Corruption charges: 0"

you can get rid of the party you consider a failure, but you end up having persuade the population to find a party to agree on to unify behind, even if you do not agree with their policies, to the point that you have people calling anyone voting for a party other than the DA stupid. i've even encouraged people to vote for the DA, but then that goes against what democracy is supposed to be. this entire thing has turned into a bull**** game

I personally think that we will start seeing more grassroot stuff from this party in the months ahead. Thus far they have been busy building a base amongst the business leaders of the country.

People vote for the ANC because of a free t-shirt, so I don't see why a simple "Stop the ANC" isn't good enough? Sometimes, people need an enemy to force them out of their armchairs and into a polling station.

If you think that people who vote the ANC for a t-shirt are idiots, what do you think that says about people who vote for a party simply because the party suggests getting rid of the ANC based on one man?

I was in diepsloot myself this weekend. Agang is growing (maybe not at the pace that we would like to see it), but it is surely making inroads into the rural ANC strongholds, something that the DA hasn't managed to do that well yet.

I wouldn't generally judge a party just by attendance.

The majority of people attending these type of political functions are there for hand-me-downs - hoping for food and parcels.

Another large number of people are simply forced by others to attend and another large number of people don't know why the f**k they are there at all....

Remember the DA's campaign in the last elections?
"STOP ZUMA"
It was genius, just a shame it was so ahead of its time
