Article: I am not resigning: Vavi

This whole thing has been such a disaster, really.
Lol Vavi is a pain in the Zuma cabal's backside so eager are they to hand Cosatu over to Zuma they're stumbling over themselves in their haste. Gwede can deny it all he wants but the rest of the Cosatu national office bearers do want to turn Cosatu into an ANC labour desk. The last thing standing in their way is Vavi.

Yep. Was quite telling that Karl Cloete (from Numsa) was beside him at the press conference. Numsa's support among the Cosatu affiliates seems to be increasing as well. Seems to be heading in the direction of a proper split.

It's sad to see, the last organization capable of speaking up and having the ANC listen is being torn up in the interest of the Zulu tribe takeover in the ANC.

When has the ANC ever listened to COSATU? labour brokers perhaps....? No. They are still there. E-tolls perhaps?? No. In fact, more are planned for the Western Cape now.

Cosatu having influence with the ANC doesn't mean they always get what they ask for. It's about to-and-fro, shaping of policy etc.

COSATU doesn't get a thing they ask for? What has shown you that the ANC listens to COSATU??

Yes a lot of the labour friendly policy environment is a result of behind the scenes arm wrestling with all of the alliance members. And there are still a lot of outstanding things the labour part of the alliance wants from Polokwane and Vavi wants it delivered while the Zuma allies in labour are happy to compromise on in returning for favours I think.

The fact that labour brokers are under the microscope at all. They ask for banning, the ANC settles on regulation - that's how this works.

"Under the microscope" means f-all for the workers being extorted by labour brokers. So in my opinion, it's an empty gesture. COSATU has been calling for them to be banned for years now. And the best the ruling party can come up with is putting them under a microscope? Come on man.

We live in a country where the workers especially those earning very little are exploited daily. The basic conditions of employment is nothing more than toilet paper for many companies.

Inflation is based on crap. Rich are getting richer. Poor are getting poorer. And you think the ruling party listens to COSATU?

Suppose we have to agree to disagree.

With Vavi going or gone and NUMSA out chances are labour brokers are here to stay. The remaining affiliates are the equivalent of canned animals for the ANC easy to appease by buying off the leaders with cushy gov postings

30 of the CEC voted for him to be expelled while only one member voted against it. Says a lot about where the labour unions priorities lie.

He comes across as a very noble honourable guy who really cares for the poor and for the working class. Yet people seem to forget, he is part of the ruling party and that to me wipes away all the "good" he tries to do (or preach about).

Please......He is no better. You want to tell me he never putbhisbfingwra in the cookie jar??? All the bloody same
