Article: Julius Malema wants charges dropped

Economic Freedom Fighters leader Julius Malema will make representations to a judge on Thursday in an attempt to have charges against him dropped.

The expelled ANC Youth League president faces charges of fraud, corruption, money-laundering, and racketeering.
 
Is it because he's black?

Serious question, what other reason could he have as motivation?

I doubt there will be a tape..

it will be a surveillance video from a satellite somewhere.
 
Malema loses court bid

The Polokwane High Court dismissed EFF leader Julius Malema's application to have charges against him dropped on Thursday.

Judge Ephraim Makgoba said the case against him would go ahead next year as scheduled, unless the National Prosecuting Authority decided to drop the charges against him.

The expelled former ANC Youth League leader faces charges of fraud, corruption, money-laundering, and racketeering.

It is alleged that he made nearly R4 million from corrupt activities.

Zuma would never let the charges be dropped. At least the CIC is free to campaign before the elections.

And yes, Zuma would never let the charges be dropped.. its a big anvil that he hangs over Julius's head and Julius knows that if he becomes a pain in Zuma's side, he will be in kark.

ANC unforgiving: Malema

EFF leader Julius Malema accused the ANC on Thursday of refusing to forgive him while they did so for those who killed anti-apartheid activists.

"Why would they go out to destroy a young man?" he told supporters after appearing in the Polokwane High Court.

"Why did they take everything from him and still protected those who killed our people? Where are the people who were hanging revolutionaries in Pretoria?"

The expelled former African National Congress Youth League leader was speaking after failing to persuade the court to withdraw charges of fraud, corruption, money-laundering, and racketeering against him. He allegedly made nearly R4 million from corrupt activities.

Malema denied committing any serious crime, adding that his only offence was to express views that differed from those of the ANC.

He said his political party, the Economic Freedom Fighters, was the only solution to poverty.

"They do not have charges against us. This is a political prosecution for holding different views. They [the ANC] disagree with what we represent and therefore manipulate the prosecution."

The court ruled that the case against him would go ahead next year as scheduled, unless the National Prosecuting Authority decided to drop the charges against him.
