Article: Kruger bans liquor from public areas

Obviously you are not aware of the 'Kruger' issue. Oversee tourists are not problematic at all when it comes to alcohol consumption in the park. They have never been. People who can afford to sleep over a few nights, are pretty well behaved too. That leaves the 'poor' day visitors who just want to have fun for a few hours. There is no tour guide to check on them. Their particulars are not known. After they pay a fairly discounted entry fee, they think they own the place. I am all in support of this measure.

The point is that you shouldn't be consuming alcohol whilst driving around in a nature reserve. I don't care what country you come from.

As everyone in here is saying: "Public drunkards FTL". I agree with this. If foreigners aren't a problem then telling them they can't drink either shouldn't be a problem.

Also I can understand why people staying in the park are allowed to drink but then they should be drinking in their camp only and the minute they want to set out in their vehicles then breathalyze them. After all I don't like the idea of people drinking and driving on our roads why on Earth would we even be for a moment entertaining people drinking and driving where they could squash a protected animal. This principle should apply though regardless of nationality etc. I honestly can't see how it is justified because then if we're going to create strange rules like this that only apply to certain groups then I'd like to be exempt from the speeding laws please because I'm not a problem when it comes to speeding so the law shouldn't apply to me.
