Speaker Baleka Mbete told EFF MPs Godrich Gardee that President Jacob Zuma would answer questions next week.
"Members will have an opportunity to debate and respond to the address by the president and the sitting scheduled for next week... This is not a question session," she said after MPs demanded that Zuma pay back the money for security upgrades on his Nkandla residence.

The ANC will probably state that neither the DA or the EFF was present when the SONA was delivered, exempting their participation. It seems that the ANC can do anything now...

Zuma doesn't have to be President of the country to remain in power - just president of the ANC.
The real power in SA lies in Luthuli House not parliament until the ANC losses its majority!

The anc resolved not to allow two centres of power develop after Mbeki tried playing puppet master by being reelected anc president for a third term. So Zuma will likely step down, but he's already stacked the deck so whomever comes after him doesn't cause him problems using state organs.Zuma doesn't have to be President of the country to remain in power - just president of the ANC.

The constitution limits a president to two consecutive terms.

Which requires a 2/3 rds majority to change which the ANC does not have. There was thought if they combined with EFF for the change they could but I don't see that happening at this stage.
