A metro police officer was arrested in Protea Glen, near Soweto, for allegedly asking a truck driver for a bribe, Gauteng police said on Thursday.

The officer demanded money from the truck driver in return for his vehicle's licence disk, Warrant Officer Kay Makhubela said.

Bribes came into effect when we expect leniency from officers when we break the law.

I guess we must pay them for accepting the - "last chance" or whatever other pathetic excuse we spew.

If i am guilty then i dont mind paying a bribe, at the end of the day my money either goes to the corrupt traffic cop at a discount or it goes to the corrupt government, either way i lose so i prefer losing as little as possible.

These guys bribe you when you are not guilty. Ive had this happen with a breathalizer test when I didnt drink a single thing.
