Article Mistake corrections

The why would you think... article contain's the following two travesty's in DIRE need of correction's (yes, all of that IS intentional)

Smartphones – the future of hand held mobile computing

Smartphones are also the future; there is very little doubt about that.
..this is from a 'junior journalist' and regular columnist? :erm:

So, EngineerIT (from whom one frankly expects more) is not without its own share of problems: Hans in his SumbandilaSat article dropped that most BASIC of clanger:
We have determined that this trip was not a “legitimate” trip and was caused by the state of the primary controller. In other words, there was nothing wrong with the OBC. We could instruct the backup controller to switch on in “override” mode which would ignore all trips, and this worked, but it was not safe since in override mode the switch looses some functionality required for the OBC to operate reliably (the normal mode used for the OBC is called AutoWatchdog mode and includes auto reset after a trip and a watchdog mechanism to power cycle the OBC should it become unresponsive). What we needed was an AutoWatchdog mode, but with a hardware trip override active.
 ...maybe point him to enlightenment? :D

Hans again: in his batteries article he opens with "Lead acids batteries can be dangerous" - that should be lead-acid, or maybe even lead acid. Just not acids.

He repeats this further down at "This incident clearly illustrates that lead acids batteries can be dangerous if proper environmentally safe processes are not followed."

Yet further down, fixes are needed at "The problem is size and power output. Prof. Phil Bartlett from Southampton University, for example, calculated that to create 2 W of power for a mobile phone fuel cell the electrode would need to be 4 m2." That should be 2W and, preferably 4m² but, if superscripts are a problem to generate, 4m2 at the very least.

And to round out Hans' triple-play, in his IT infrastructure article he mentions fighting power supplies:
With IT devices smaller than ever – often served by duel or triple power supplies – a single rack of equipment might produce 40 or more power cords to manage, plus associated service cables and patch cords.
:erm: ...*cough*

Jan's lysdexia  showed up in his Ruckus article at
Speaking about what they see in the South African market, Fletcher said that they are starting to see the market becoming a lot more mature. Globally he said there’s interest coming form carriers that want to move data onto Wi-Fi.
..unless that was just a sloppy, lazy copy/paste hack? :D

2GB data prices in SA compared
http://mybroadband.co.za/news/broadband/32554-2gb-mobile-data-prices-in-sa-compared.html

In the pre-paid and month-to-month section, the iBurst package listed for R198 is actually a 2 + 2 package. 2GB on the 1st of the month an 2Gb on the 15th.
The pricing on the 1 + 1 package is R149.

In the contract section, the iBurst package listed for R257 is actually a 2 + 2 package, including a USB modem.
The pricing on the 1 + 1 package is R208.

Brought down by the homonym hound! :D In his gamer hard drive performance article Derrick Cramer got bit at
At the end of the day buying an SSD will result in far greater performance than any of the above optimisations, though all this comes at a price. Large capacity SSDs are terribly expensive, and lower capacity SSDs which boarder on affordable don’t have a high enough capacity for most gamers’ needs
- the word that is most commonly used to mean someone who pays room and board. That should be changed to 'border' to be correct.

Also
Disabling page file is another technique that can benefit gamers who have more than 8GBs of memory,
is better written as "8GB of memory"

Thanks for catching the mistakes bdt, I appreciate you pointing them out, they've since been fixed.

You spelt Derrick wrong btw. ;)

Thank you for correcting my lamentable oversight, it's since been fixed.

But, on a point of order, I didn't spell it wrong, I spelt it 'Derrik' - which was wrongly done.. :D

lol just some trolling on my part (ironic considering my avatar). Really do appreciate the corrections. :)

Typical how Murphy will come in and bite me in the arse, spent, DOH!
