Article: Never celebrate mediocrity: Malema

The RDP houses built by the government are worse than apartheid houses because they collapse, Economic Freedom Fighters leader Julius Malema said on Sunday in Daveyton.

So apartheid wasn't as bad as current government?
Thx for clearing that up once & for all.

Mediocrity would be an achievement by the government, so perhaps Malema has a point- can't celebrate something that doesn't exist...

Malema never gave houses/giving to needy etc when he was youth leader.. even though he rolled in money. Now he builds houses.. lol. Yea I can see him building houses/giving to needy when he is powa...

House of Malema's broken promises

The ANC Youth League (ANCYL) is hopping mad, saying it has been cleaning up Juju's mess ever since he was fired as its head.

At the centre of the stink is a pensioner from Mmakgatla village in Limpopo. Jan Marema, 80,said his wife and kids left him because of Malema's unfulfilled promise to build them a house four years ago, "but he had the gall to build one for someone else in KZN just to grab media headlines".

Marema made these claims a few days after Malema and his party, the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF), donated a new house to a resident of Nkandla, President Jacob Zuma's home village in KwaZulu-Natal.

Oh, the irony! Malema's EFF duped by house beneficiary ???

The Sunday Times has reported that S'thandiwe Hlongwane is married to a senior archivist at the KwaZulu-Natal department of arts and culture, who earns around R250 000 a year.

On January 11, EFF leader Julius Malema attended a ceremony in Nkandla to hand over a two bedroom house his party built to Hlongwane and her children.

Hlongwane and her husband, Lucky Nene, own at least two other properties and a VW Polo and Toyota Hilux.

Last year Hlongwane reportedly took Malema to the ramshackle home where she was brought up.

The party was prompted into helping Hlongwane after seeing photographs of her home, taken during the Democratic Alliance's attempt to visit Zuma's R208-million homestead in November 2012, the paper reported.

Malema said that, as far as he knew, Hlongwane was an unmarried mother of two.

"When you were fighting, you said you didn't want matchbox houses. They give you worse than that," Malema said.

Dear Juliass

How about opening one of your grand mansions to the less fortunate?
