Article: New rules for garbage disposal

In a bid to sort out the unpleasantries sometimes experienced in household waste removal, South Africa will finally put into effect the long-awaited National Domestic Waste Collection tomorrow.

This follows the publication of the National Domestic Waste Collection Standards by Water and Environmental Affairs Minister, Edna Molewa, under the National Environmental Management: Waste Act (Act No. 59 of 2008) after consultations were held in the provinces.
 
ok, so we go through the pain of sorting everything & all they will do is lumping it on the same truck & dump it in the same spot.

That happens where my mom lives in the UK so what makes them think it will work here...
 
Municipalities have a choice to provide different types of bins, taking into consideration the type of vehicles they use. These vehicles must, however, meet certain health and safety standards.

Our metro is so poor they hardly ever supply us with black plastic bags, never mind a single bin!!! And the new proposal is for multiple bins???
 
But how do we stop these vagrants from scratching in our garbage (which I believe is against the law ). Saw some of them trying to match pieces of a credit card together. Also see them gather invoices and bank statements to re-sell to criminals.

It is only pre- election hype – similar to premature ejaculation – totally useless.
 
Here in Paradyskloof, Stellenbosch we already have two waste removals, the normal garbage and then we get transparent bags for recycle waste, which a different truck collects, tomorrow I'm putting out two broken fans, one each to a bag.

I like the transparent bags, that way the 'early morning poverty stricken recyclers' can see what they want, without having to dig through dirty food or stuff that can cut or hurt them out of black bags.

Recycle is good, I approve and support it.
 
Does this mean my dustbin's going to be emptied on time now, actually the same day I put it out or like what's happening more frequently like some godforsaken hour like 11 o'clock on a Friday night?

By use we have to pay a separate fee if we want to do recycling.

I don't know where your mom lives but in kent they take recycling very seriously.

Same. We even have a bin cleaning service. Although that's a private business

Ja kry die eerste wheelie bin verniet - maar jou sakke is tussen jou en P&P en Ackerman glo nie in verniet wegee nie. En jy kry regtig gratis sakke? Seker net in DA streek want JHB en PTA is nie vrygewig as jy belasting betaal nie. Net as jy NIE belasting betaal kry jy gratis goeters soos elektrisiteit en water

I'm in PE - probably the most radical ANC metro in the country, but they are under pressure in many wards in the upcoming elections!

May the ANC get many warts on their skin for lying to so many people in so few wards
