Article: No bomb at Eastgate

The fact of the matter is that I believe that Government do not want to stir panic. I think they had a huge tremendous amount of pressure on them from certain commercial institutions.

I believe that they are attempting to try cover this whole thing under a mat.

I truly hope that no incident will happen this holiday season!

Nobody thought that maybe ....

Just maybe it was a trial run to test police reaction times .
It could have been either a training exercise or it could be that the syndicate/potential thieves/terrorist tested the waters for later on in the holidays heist/statement/terror.

With a major UN summit going on in SA at the moment, it obvious the spin doctors at SAPS had to play down the initial 'bomb' leak. We can't have 20,000 international delegates getting the jitters, running home and declaring the country unsafe through their embassy travel advisories to their citizens. I believe a bomb was found, but an elaborate cover-up of deniability is at play. A bomb blast here would be the death of the upcoming tourist season and the heavy indictment against a failing state.

You mean the ones in Durban? The 'bombers' need to brush up on their geography. If there is any truth to it really being a bomb, I wonder who's behind it? At least those chaps who wanted to blow up churches are behind bars so they can't be suspects.

Meh, the SAPS have been getting more and more sloppy as the years go by.

Their last fiasco they said was a massive arms cache on the East Rand, and that turned out to be one rusty rifle.

so I don't doubt that we are dealing here with a bunch of ignoramuses.

The miscommunications yesterday were just further proof of this.

And the Cherry on top was them calling Eastgate "Bedford Centre" over their police radios.
