Blade is just being a moron here. Currently UFS, Stellenbosch, UP and Potch offer degrees in Afrikaans and even UJ has some classes in Afrikaans. There are also a few colleagues that teach only in Afrikaans,. Reducing Afrikaans from a scientific, technical and advanced language to just being able to greet people and an odd street sign is ridiculous.
Personally I think English public universities would be the best idea. If we start breaking them down into different languages... and we have so many official languages... its going to hurt more than help. Rather standardize them to English which is the international language of business and communication.
Private universities are free to do whatever they want, but public universities should be english.
