Article: Rashied Staggie employed as a cleaner

Former Hard Livings gang leader Rashied Staggie, 57, who is currently on day parole, will be employed as a general cleaner at a Belville office from Thursday, Beeld reported.

Staggie was sentenced in 2003 to 15 years in prison on charges of kidnapping and rape, and in 2004, he received another sentence of 13 years for gun theft.
 
not even gonna read the article. BS! one of th emost feared gangsters from the recent past is now a cleaner? pull the other one. "cleaner" i can believe but a toilet scrubber is BS!
 
Well it could be worse ... as a rapist he could have been promoted to presidency.
Oh wait ... we already have one of those.
 
Honestly, is a cleaning position now suppose to change this thug? They shouldn't be surprised if he's back at it again.

15 years for kidnapping and rape is way too little!!
 
What is the point of the prison and justice system if not to reform and change people?

why not just execute everyone that comes through?

he has a job now, if he DIDN'T have a job, imagine what he'd have to resort to. i have little faith in people changing as it is, but if you believe in the justice system at all, you have to respect its decisions and ability

The job is purely a cover....

This man is used to a lifestyle way beyond what a "cleaner" can afford....

i'm sure he is being monitored, our police department can be inept but i doubt that they're THAT inept

Unfortunately the law isn't always right - money and power get you off easily. He might be innocent according to the law, but that doesn't mean he is innocent.

There is a huge difference between policing, justice and correctional services.

You're completely missing the point. One needs to respect the law, and thus the court's verdict. You may not like it, you may not agree with it, but you have to respect it. He is not guilty of rape.

What you think of him is your business - and your right - but the court said he was not guilty of rape.

Let's move on, and let's not be like the ANC when it comes to respect for court decisions.
