"In South Africa, if your government uses its resources well and makes positive investments... you could grow in a much better way than China," Justin Yifu Lin said during a lecture at the University of Johannesburg's Soweto campus.

True, we have so much potential.
Sadly we are not reaching our full potential as a country for various reasons.

We have endless potential but the politicians are fscking it up for all of us.

Of course it's great for the government to consider every inch and person of the nation its own "resources"- then along comes the World Bank offering a great loan package to develop these "resources", all the government has to do is give a little preferential treatment to the WB's corporate partners... :-/

Yep, we can become a great nation as soon as we vote out the ANC and undo all the damage they have managed to inflict on our institutions. Until then, not really.
