Article: SA to look into speed limit reductions

Energy Minister Dipuo Peters has instructed a team to determine speed limit reductions as a way to save fuel.

"I have instructed my team to determine the level at which a reduction of the speed limit may be necessary," she said, adding that this would be in consultation with the Department of Transport.

And so we slouch into tyranny. Governments are out of control and need to be reigned in or overthrown (says me slouching in a chair at the PC, posting this. Yeah, I know, I know). Ordinary people must take back the planet from these loons. They are servants not owners.

What are you on about? Take back the planet because they want to help people save fuel?

Boy that seems a bit extreme.

What next?

Employ a Sangoma to get fuel from a rock like our Zim buddies.

Stupid is as stupid does - rings true

It should be up to each person - if they want to save fuel then just drive slowly. Why do we need someone to look into it!?

This will not save fuel. It will increase congestion and increase fuel consumption as a result of the extra time spent in 1st and 2nd gears.

Besides, we don't need the government to interfere to save us fuel. If I want to burn fuel then I will do so - I paid for it. What we need is for them to reduce the cost of fuel, which can easily be done be decreasing the insane amount of fuel taxes.

You see only the fuel, and not the power grab by government? Wow.

The power grab happened so long ago dude, you should start a movement or something but i fear you are a decade late.

Yes mike in an ideal world the government should lose more money on fuel to help us but we don't live in an ideal world. If we lived in an ideal world cars that don't make use of oil products would cost the same as cars that do.

So bring on an ideal world car that does not use fuel. It can be done. We put a man on the moon in the 1960's, it is 2011 i am fairly certain we should have cheap electric cars now.
