I actually thought about a fair way of doing things. The restaurant industry needs to agree to sell/advertise things like steak, calamari, prawns, chops etc. on a ZAR/100g basis. So you see the advert: 'Sirloin steak at R35.95/100g with chips/rice & onions', you go in, choose your pre-cooked steak, they weigh it & tell you how much your dish will cost. You can accept, or choose another cut. Simpler & fairer, neh?

I see now that the 2Kg 'frozen chicken braai packs' clearly state '30% brine' in BIG letters on the front. I assume this is as a result of earlier complaints.
