Article: Steroids lab busted

?

There are countless number of reputable, international brands. BSN, Muscletech, Dymatize, Musclepharm, ON, Betancourt and many others. ON has the best protein powder by far.

Stay away from USN, their supps are not good. There is a reason their stuff is so cheap.

Oh I understand now. It is just the brand you have a problem with, not the actual concept of supplements like Whey.

Was told Evox is best. Or one of the best brands.

Yep, but not just me. USN doesn't have a very good reputation with the local bodybuilding community.

If I had to take a stab in the dark, I would say the big big majority of USN supp users are those who are relatively new to the BB scene. Because they advertise and distribute so well, newcomers are easily attracted. Only after a year or two do they realize that there is much better stuff out there.

Evox is a respected local brand, like SSN. Of course it's not top quality like some international brands, but they are cheaper. I only bought their protein like twice? so can't comment too much on that. Would recommend them if you don't want to spend too much on supplements.

Cookies and cream flavour

So far I am happy with them. The cookies and cream Whey tastes nice and now started taking Evox Creatine HCL also. Switching to Creatine Mono when the HCL is finished.

I think I might be going off topic too much now. :)

Well I know why the USN whey I get is cheap because it is like 90% concentrate :p

Pal, if you want cookies and cream flavor, try ON gold standard whey with that flavor. You will have an orgy in your mouth, guaranteed.

My 13yr old recently told me wants to start bulking up, I told him to go lift some *****ing weights then.
None of this BS steroid crap.

Rugby players at 14 looking like 21 yr olds.

Please get him a decent training schedule and make sure he gets a good gain diet. Parents ignore teens that want to bulk up, it is difficult and they will soon resort to things behind your back.

It is a little effort but then again body building is a pain in the arse

I feel sorry for juicers. Enlarged heart and early death are no joke, especially for their kids.

Where's the science? The amateur bodybuilding scene is full of misconception based on marketing and hearsay. Its the male equivalent of the cosmetics market.

I totally agree.
We are quite disciplined in our exercise so it will be taken care of.

Or switch to Nutritech, it's the exact same quality as ON but is locally manufactured, so it's less than one third of the price.

This pretty much sums it up.

@HDS - can you really justify spending R2200 on protein instead of R500 that will give you the same result for what you're doing? I can't. Unless you're a serious BB, competing nationally and internationally, don't waste your money. Also, your supplements are important, but your main source of proteins, fats, etc should be coming from your diet.

So, to sum up your argument, you are saying the difference between a cheap local supps and expensive international supps is almost non existent and therefore us normal folk shouldn't waste our money on quality?

Pal, not to toot my own horn or anything but I have been taking supplements for +- 5 years and I think I can tell the difference between bad and good supplements. Nevermind gains, looking at the label is good enough. Don't need some random guy on the internet to tell me USN protein is the same as ON protein.

About USN, there is a reason it has a crap reputation in the bodybuilding circle. There is also a reason why supplement stores like body king and chrome don't stock their products.

Perhaps the statement that USN is crap was a bit too harsh. Let's just say that there are much better supplements for your money out there.

I'm saying I can't justify spending four times the money for a supplement that will give me the same results... Protein is not the same as buying a car, ON might be "better quality", but why must I pay four times the price? I can get enough protein in my diet, while keeping my calories and carbs low enough to stay lean and still put on size while using "cheap" whey.

I'm assuming you take MP Assault as well?

Too many people take supps as whole food replacements. You really should just learn to cook healthy whole food.
