it's definitely Zuma's and Mbeki's fault! how dare you guys suggest apartheid! :p

the way i see it, 18 years is a long time, but you need to influence generations. 18 years is nothing to a student or a man who has lived his life being mistreated. i don't believe 25 years will even be enough to fix the faults of apartheid, it left scars and poor attitudes. it takes more than years to fix those

Agreed, but the ANC has done nothing to help the next generations. In fact, they just setting up those generations to live in more poverty than the current.

The only thing the ANC have done so far is maintain their voters through providing free hand-outs and then pissing the remaining budgets down the drain, splurging themselves. Sorry to say, but ANC aren't doing anything to help the future generations either.

I’m sure there was, but I was prepared to live with it. My reasoning was that some slack had to be given to a revolutionary movement that was trying to govern – presumably (I thought) it would get less (although the arms deal was a shocker). It wasn’t transparently punitive and discriminatory (like Mbeki and Zuma). An element of corruption and gravy-training was bound to manifest itself as the ignorant ‘cadres’ got their mitts on the levers of power.

Apartheid is too blame for most if not all the countries problems and the ANC is also to blame for not dealing with the problems fast enough.

Let's put it this way: the folks who steal the taxpayers' money, are not doing so in a sustainable manner anymore ;)

They do. In 2009 they decided to combine their militaries (to save money, I suppose). Still, this is a huge step and not something you do if tensions exist. It surprised me. I think it is a world first.
