Article: Time to find a second Earth, WWF says

no need to find another one... just grab one from one of the alternate parallel dimensions.

Well lets all go back to living in caves then.....

I imagine a popular venue for conservatives to dwell.

Personally I would prefer a carbon emission free household with things like wind and solar power... but Im a hippy :)

So I take you have an emisions free household?

I wonder how many planets we'd need if everybody lived like earth crusaders Al Gore, DiCaprio and the rest of Hollywood's cretins. We could all do with 3 more mansions and a dozen super cars......

Not at all. I really cant afford it yet. Speak to me in 5 years when I build a house. My wife and I have decided on a low impact off the grid (except for the telkom dsl) system. We have also agreed to purchase a Nissan Leaf within the next 3 years.

Well isn't that always the case. You hippies want to save the planet but none of you can afford too. How convenient. Have you made drastic cut backs like losing the T.V? Aircon? heaters? microwaves? The planet is at stake man!!!

Don't worry you can turn your lights out for an hour during "Earth Hour" to make up for your shortfall ;)

We have money now Alan, probably more than you by a significant value, but the house we want to build costs several million. We dont use our heaters or aircon at home.

We have all our lights fitted with those expensive low energy tubes and our lights are only on in the room we are in.

That's why this sort of awareness campaign gets launched. By increasing awareness, you increase demand for low-emissions alternatives. Increased demand decreases the price.

Tangentally, 'dirty' technology (ie. fossil-fuel based) is at least as expensive as 'green' technology when you factor in the cost of waste disposal.

Either we find a new world or we allow the proliferaration of the conditions that will lead to the reduction of the global population by substantial proportions.

Something that I think pharmaceutical companies have been doing ............... [rest of post deleted by the powers that be] .... [Picard was murdered a couple of minutes after this post by an unknown and forever-to-be-unknown assassin].

While i agree and had a laugh there is no doubt that earth hour and what not raises awareness and possibly without the hippies the world would not even care about going green.

Power to the hippies!!!!!!!!! even if they use microwaves and heaters :D.

Hmmm, well, all this environmental crap is making my life a pain in the ass... I'm studying electrical engineering, and every thing has to be energy conscious, and has to be biodegradable, and has to have the environment in mind . ha ha

Ag, it's chilled, I'm sure someone will come to the rescue when humanity is at its most desperate.
