To be honest in the bigger scheme of things you are single digit...1.
Nothing else...and I am not saying this to be cruel but I think you are willfully missing the point of DJ's argument.

And as I have stated earlier...the actuall numbers are irrelevant.
The mere fact that this has been advocated should be enough.

Noody said that you're irrelevant. You used your tax as a metaphor so i pointed out that the metaphor beautifully backs up my point of view. Your contribution is statistically irrelevant to the total collections of SARS. To you it certainly means something however from a total collection perspective, you not paying will not impact SARS' revenue collections. This has been my point about the census - omitting a certain number of people makes little statistical difference when you're working with large numbers. It really means nothing at the end of the day...

At least we all know mine is a thumb suck but you and Boramk would have us believe that the gvt is spot on, even after you have admitted the point I was trying to make, that stats can be dead wrong. Even after showing you fact that the stats are dependant on honest answers from subjects. Big surprise, people lie. Another issue - how many people were questioned? I do not know anyone. I have asked around, no one I know knows anyone either. Were you questioned? :rolleyes:

So white people must feel guilty for something that happened in the past. See the past is the past. Apartheid was a product of it's time. If the roles were reversed (in time and space) and white people were black people and black people were white people. You think they'd have done it any differently to us.

A person doesn't choose to be white they are born white, how can they help it? We gave them the country back(highly developed), government, bee and EE and it still isn't enough, I don't think it will ever be enough? We are living in modern times where we can see Apartheid was wrong, yet they still choose to impose there own form of Apartheid on us. They don't want us here and bit by bit they're doing the best they can to run us out of the country, new laws and proposals each day I really hope they enjoy life under Chinese rule once we're gone.
 
A good thing about the internet is that you don't have to be politically correct. You can say it like it is and not have to worry about whose vein in the middle of whose forehead explodes.

The short of it is that South Africa is the relative powerhouse that it is today because of its past. I challenge anyone to dispute this.

Another little fact is that tax payers have funded this. And with the tax regime that we have, the wealthier you were, the more you contributed.

And a last fact is that a good number of folk contributed with toil and sweat.

Bitch and moan if you want but trying to argue that the toil part wasn't paid enough isn't going to change anything. Moving money from my savings account to the Treasury isn't going to make South Africa any richer. In fact, it will put people on the street.

If you want some equality with a tax - please make sure you tax people who have careers other than fetching water, looking after cows, growing maize, making 'beer', drinking 'beer', and sticking pointed sticks into one another - as well as those that didn't die of malaria.

Why settle for relative? It could possibly have been an even bigger power if that past had panned out a big different. The entire continent could have been so much better off if the colonisers had treated the natives as partners instead of primitives to exploit with a continent rich in resources that they promptly dug up, cut down, killed & bagged, enslaved and shipped off to better their home continents!

I agree on some parts, and raise you the fact that Africans were doing exactly what you said about Europeans centuries before they even set foot on Africa. It's unfortunately a way of life in ALL civilizations. The technologically superior invade and decimate the local population. But unlike the African way of doing things, the settlers had no inclination to commit genocide and simply wanted to live there. Yes they did kill many black people, No they did not commit Genocide. What the Zulu and Xhosa did to the Koi-San was genocide on the other hand.
