Article: Zuma elected as president

I have a feeling Zuma is a puppet, because he fits the description for the best puppet:
1. No shame
2. Simple minded
3. Have him and Nklandla's best interest at heart.
And probably many more...question is who is controlling him
 
From what I understand, if Zuma's nomination as president had been opposed and another candidate proposed, parliament would have taken a secret ballot on it.

The ANC has about 250 seats out of 400 but they are a divided party.

Imagine if an opposition party had nominated Cyril Ramaphosa as president. I think all opposition parties would have voted for him out of opposition to Zuma and possibly some in the ANC would have too. It would have been a long shot but with some luck they could have gotten to more than 200 votes for Ramaphosa.

Then we would have had Ramaphosa as president.

Another 5 or maybe 20 years of rape, pillage and plunder of the tax payers poephole. The peasants get poorer and the fat ANC gets fatter. Stupidity has no bounds.
 
If every person who voted for the ANC in this round of elections give their President R22, he can pay for Nkandla.

they *might* know he is tool, but he provides the gravy... they wall want a massive scoop. So why will they go against the gravy maker...?

There is one thing about the EFF that I look forward to: they're going to give all those unprincipled Zuma loyalists (Maharaj, Pandor, Nzimande, etc.) a very hard time in parliament.

I'm curious as to whether Zille was joking when she said that the DA now have 200 % more women in cabinet. The Star reported on it as though it was meant seriously, but having read other news sources where they report that journalists laughed when she said this, I'm not sure if it was a joke or very bad maths on her part. Basically she said that whereas the DA previously had no women in their cabinet, they now have two, and that this represented a 200 % increase in women representation.
 
Members of the ruling party looked expectantly to EFF leader Julius Malema when his name was called out to vote.

Malema did not get up to fetch his ballot paper. Instead he shook his head, indicating he was not participating in the vote.

Freedom Front Plus MP Corne Mulder rose on a point of order, saying parliamentary rules state MPs “must” vote.

Chief Justice Mogoeng Mogoeng later indicated that “must” should be interpreted as “may”, as no one could be forced to vote.

There was raucous laughter in the House when Mulder replied: “I hope when it comes to our taxes to be paid that 'must' will mean 'may'.”

President Jacob Zuma was the last to vote after MPs were called up in alphabetical order.

More laughter followed when Zuma clasped his hands and bowed in front of Malema when he placed his voting slip in the ballot box. Malema remained seated but bowed in similar fashion to Zuma.

Is it only me or does Chief Justice support Malema, not meaning the EFF, but his actions, he also made that silly remarks in regard with the presidency.
 
Zoomer must rate among the least respected presidents in history....and now "wins" another term? How can a party elect him as president when practically all publicity about him is bad? The mind boggles.
 
Pariliament is such a farce with these self entitled bigots who fall asleep and generally don't give a flying ***** about it.

LOL, just thinking... when JZ gets on stage on Saturday with inauguration, he can stand there with moerse grin on his face, and flip everybody the mid finger :D
we all wanted him out of gov, yet there he is, prez again, with a big expensive (tax paid) show with jets and all to boot.
(at least the airforce pilots gets to have some flight time in the jets :D)
 
Revellers fed chicken at inauguration

PRETORIA - Boxes of meals containing bread and chicken were handed out to large groups of people at the lawns of the Union Buildings ahead of President Jacob Zuma's inauguration on Saturday.

People were given a quarter chicken, slices of bread, soft drinks and water.

They had a choice of either an apple, banana or pear along with their meals.

The food was neatly packed in portable brown boxes which were, in turn, wrapped with plastic bags.

Men, women and children sat on the lawns and enjoyed their meals while watching performances on stage.

The elderly were prioritised and attended to first before they were led to their designated marquee.

Host Arthur Mafokate announced that no alcohol was allowed on the grounds.

"We are here to enjoy ourselves and celebrate this country...no alcohol [is] allowed," he said.
