According to reports Zuma is putting 10 million of his own money towards it.

Seeing as he was close to broke when he became pres, how has he amassed 10 million spare change ?

So, Zuma's house takes higher priority over building new schools, hospitals, roads, etc. Not suprising at all.

It must be the "ANC dream" to get the government to pay for your ass.

Where would we send Obama or African heads of state at the moment?

I would be too concerned if this was being spent on a state owned presidential residence. The yanks have the White House and Camp David, so fair enough. But this is the Presidents private property ffs. He won't be prez forever. Do we have to foot the bill for the next presidents private compound so he can accommodate Obama and African heads of state too?

Afaik, visiting heads of state to the UK stay in places like their ambasaodors residence. There is no way we would tolerate funding upgrading their private homes because we would have to do this every 5 to 10 years because we get tired of the feckers and hoof them out of office even if they do a good job.
