Asian Supermarket

Looking for one in Southern Suburbs CT.

Thanks

If Asian = Chinese / Thai

Best one is in Sable Square (near Canal Walk)

You could try the ChinaTown opposite Makro in Ottery (I don't know if there is one there though...so you're taking your chances driving out there).

Canal Walk / Sable Square really isn't far away though...

If Asian = Indian

Gatesville / Rylands

Thanks.

I'm looking for one that sells 2 minute noodles from china, thailand etc, as well as tofu, sauces, frozen dumplings. I will look for one at Sable Square. Is that between canal walk?

Also looking for one that sells nice masala like from Gorima's in Durban.

There's another thread here about Asian Food Suppliers.
Major one is in Montague Gardens - Ding Ho

I actually went around to the China Town in Ottery and grabbed some supplies.
A nice little store to the right as you come in.

Perhaps there are others too.

I got some Hoisin sauce, Fish Sauce, Soy Sauce, Chicken and Mushroom Dumplings, Sesame Seeds and some Egg Noodles.

The 1st 3 sauces are actually from Ding Ho and iirc were running at R25 each.
Frozen chicken & shroom dumplings were R30 for 25.

I experimented with making a marinade for some beef strips a week ago, but I didn't quite get it right as I was doing it in on the fly.

But the dumplings worked well tonight with a broth that I made up on the fly :)

Is the ottery one better than the canal walk one? I drove past the ottery one yesterday.

Went to both. Both are crap compared to Durban ones. Still on the hunt.

In Observatory main road near the Pick n Pay centre there's quite a good Korean supermarket.
