It's been reported that system specifications for the upcoming PC edition of Assassin's Creed will require 2 GB of RAM (3GB is recommended) and the minimum CPU is a Dual core 2.6 GHz Intel Pentium D or AMD Athlon 64 X2 3800+ with the recommended processors listed as Intel Core 2 Duo 2.2 GHz or AMD Athlon 64 X2 4400+ (or better).

For those who don't have INT access, here is the gory details:

In order to play this game properly, your PC MUST meet or exceed these minimum requirements:

Supported OS: Windows XP / Vista (only)

Processor: Dual core processor 2.6 GHz Intel Pentium D or AMD Athlon 64 X2 3800+ (Intel Core 2 Duo 2.2 GHz or AMD Athlon 64 X2 4400+ or better recommended)

RAM: 2 GB (3 GB recommended)

Video Card: 256 MB DirectX 10.0–compliant video card or DirectX 9.0–compliant card with Shader Model 3.0 or higher (512 MB video card recommended) (see supported list)*

Sound Card: DirectX 9.0 or 10.0 compliant sound card (5.1 sound card recommended)

DirectX Version: DirectX 10.0 libraries (included on disc)

DVD-ROM: DVD-ROM dual-layer drive

Hard Drive Space: 12 GB

Peripherals Supported: Keyboard, mouse, optional controller (Xbox 360 Controller for Windows recommended)

*Supported Video Cards at Time of Release:
ATI RADEON X1300-1950 / HD 2000 / 3000 series
NVIDIA GeForce 6600-6800 / 7 / 8 / 9 series

Laptop versions of these cards may work but are NOT supported. These chipsets are the only ones that will run this game.

I hope its better than Prince of Persia 3...I heard the guards in the game attack you when you start running/your horse runs past them..and that the beggars and lepers are annoying, so much so that you want to hit them in the face, and when you do that, the guards attack you..
 
Never liked those types of games.
However, I'm all game to try something new... I'm looking forward to this, simply because its YET ANOTHER HYPED UP GAME.

yes, but then you kill them all and dance around on their corpses until more guards come. repeat cycle.

this game was serious fun on the xbox. cant wait to hear how it compares visually on a monster of a pc.
 
Emphasis on the words "monster of a PC"

personally guys, I'm sick and tired of having to spend R1000's of rands to upgrade to play these bloody games.

I saw Crysis on m older pc and it looked kark! then I saw it at a friend and then decided, time to upgrade, R4000 later, I can play crysis, now this game comes and what, must i upgrade again?

I wish everyone (pc whise) would boycott games and not buy them till the makes stop saying / making games that need such hectic graphics etc.

Look at COD4... its BEAUTIFUL when on highest and you don't need a killer pc, heck, it looks as good as Crysis (IMO)

Long rant short... they say jump, many of us say 'how high'

I'm not upgrading, if i cant play AC, stuff it...

Crysis was the last straw for me :)

OH... I have 4GB's of ram :D haha.

And no I am not boycotting games which want us to upgrade. It's all part of moving forward. PC gaming has never been for the budget gamer and will never be. In the end of the day you get what you pay for . There are lots of other games out there which you can play with a budget system but if you want to play the latest games you need a good rig.
 
Unless they've added a bunch of new graphical features to the PC version the specs look a bit high. I've got Assassin's Creed on 360 and it looks great, but certainly not good enough to warrant those recommended specs (unless of course a high resolution and/or AA is being taken into account)

I just had this sorta chat with a friend and you know what his answer was?

I don't mind upgrading, but they can kiss my A55 if they think i'll BUY their games... Copies FTW!

So... maybe I should stop buying games and start using that money to save up towards my next upgrade and instead just copy games... R300 a shot (R350+ the way things are going these days) and 4 games time, I practically can buy a new motherboard, 6 games later, I can buy high speed memory, 9 games later, new graphics card etc...
 
I was so looking forward to playing this game - cos I like this gendre. Now this pc spec thing is making me sad. Oh well, looks like I gotta fast track my upgrade path.

Maybe if I give up smoking and drinking I can save up faster .... ??

What did I just say ....? Thats never going to happen.

Ag nee! I've been waiting for this game ... and now it's completely out of my spec scope ... and upgrading to these specs is not an option ... :mad:

And if you buy a console you will also be spending enough money to afford a new pc on the extra they charge for their AAA titles. R600 for the brand new games.

In the end it evens out to about the same amount in you factor in all costs. The difference is people don't notice because they have to spend as much initially on a console as they do on a gaming pc.

At the end of the day it comes down to taste and what you prefer. I will rather spend my money on my pc.:)

And I won't even comment on the logic of copying games. Unless you are still in high school and not earning your own money there's no way you can rationalise stealing games.
