Hi,

I want to implement an Asterisk PABX and make external calls. I know that I need some sort of external provider - which provider is recommened to use with Asterisk ??

Is http://www.asteriskout.com/ any good ??

Comments from people who have actually used a VOIP provider will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

voipjet are pretty good

Haven't used them for long, but got an * box running handing IAX2 to them and it all works fine over my dsl connection.

Rates are very good

For local calls you can always insert a BRI ISDN card or analogue Wildcard into your * box and dial out over the PSTN yourself. Passive BRI ISDN is really cheap (R300), but if ISDN is not available you can always buy a Wildcard from Miro at a ripoff +-R900. Passive BRI ISDN is a #itch to setup though, cause the misdn drivers and capi is still in beta.

I have been using http://www.voicenet.co.za they are really good, prices are good and quality is excellent, they support both SIP and IAX. If you need any help, they will also assist you in seeting up you box.

Well my best advise would be to stay away from a company called http://www.openvoice.co.za the just rip people off, setup pabx systems that dont work and there voice quality is really bad !, there staff are unfreindly and unhelpfull

I am really suprised at this,Clayton (MD of OpenVoice) has been quite helpful, may give
him a call and sort out it out.

well after comparing the call rates of many SA based VOIP solutions, they are not offering a good deal. One can get much much cheaper rates by going directly to overseas companies.

Voicenet's site is only half working. SQL Server errors on the rates page, and there is no way for me to register on the site.
